  • Publication number: 20180222574
Abstract: A force sensing element is used in a pressure transducer. The force sensing element includes a flat, disc-type spring having a unitary body that circumscribes a central axis, and a plurality of spirals that are continuous with each other and extend radially outwardly from the central axis. The plurality of spirals includes nested symmetrical flights having walls with a non-uniform thickness, and the disc spring is uniformly deflectable along the central axis in response to force acting on the disc-type spring. The spring is configured to have a high accuracy and a high fatigue life such that the spring is suitable for use in high-pressure applications that may require repeatability while operating with over 10 million cycles of unidirectional or bi-directional axial loading.

  • Publication number: 20160339228
Abstract: A medical stopcock which allows easier switching operation of plural branch-tubes. The main body of the stopcock comprises a chamber part with a nearly spherical inner surface, and an upstream branch-tube, a downstream branch-tube and a merge-branch-tube all extending from the chamber part. A valve body of the stopcock comprises a nearly spherical valve main body and a rod-shaped operating part with a guide hole linking the inner surface of the chamber part to the outside. In operation, the rod-shaped operating part is moved along the guide hole through the use of the horizontal flow passages and the vertical flow passage to allow the predetermined branch-tubes out of the upstream branch-tube, the downstream branch-tube and the merge-branch-tube to communicate with one another or to shut-off the communication.

  • Patent number: 9496996
Abstract: A communications system comprises a transmitter, receiver and channel. The transmitter transmits multiple copies of each data bit in a multi-dimension modulation scheme matrix, the dimensions being selected from frequency, time and code. Each dimension is divided into sub-groups. A bit-loading method is used such that copies of each data bit (b11, b12, b13) are allocated within the matrix according to a predetermined arrangement so that within each dimension copies of the same data bit reside within different sub-groups.

  • Publication number: 20160127141
Abstract: A system and method are disclosed for the repair of IP multicast sessions. A repair server polls multiple transmit servers to accumulate as many of the packets missing from the multicast session as possible. A network includes a source of multicast packets in a multicast session and a plurality of multicast recipients in that session. A repair server in the network provides the packets it receives to the recipients. The repair server includes a missing packet detector. There is a plurality of retransmit servers in the network buffering portions of the packets they respectively receive during the session. The repair server maintains an ordered list of the retransmit servers that are most likely to have buffered copies of packets missing from the session. When the repair server detects that there are packets missing from the session it has received, it uses the ordered list to sequentially request the missing packets from respective ones of the plurality of retransmit servers.

  • Publication number: 20150242795
Abstract: A system extracts strengths attributable to persons from a database containing recognition transactions within a company communication system and provides metrics that reflect skills attributable to the persons for performance reviews, evaluations and talent management. A skills finder feature searches words from a predefined dictionary comprising words associated with strengths. A controller initiates the skills finder feature to identify transactions created or modified within the company communication system within a current predetermined period of time. A skills finding search engine searches a temporary table for words within the dictionary and extracts each strength recognized. Each extracted strength is associated with one or more skills categories. Recognitions are aggregated by skills categories and compiled into an aggregated table containing information depicting the skills categories for each of the persons accumulated from previous and current predetermined periods of time.

  • Publication number: 20150242796
Abstract: A system facilitates employee recognition and the analysis of performance indicators for evaluation of employee performance for users of email software by utilizing a plugin to the email software to direct emails containing recognition-related content into a predetermined mailbox. The plugin provides a check box on an email interface, the email-sending user automatically adds the address for the predetermined mailbox to the email interface bcc field by checking the check box. A recognition listener periodically loops through the emails within the predetermined mailbox gathering desired recognition-related information, such as the identity of an email-sending user, the identity of each recipient, and the textual content for each email. The recognition listener calls an application processing interface to facilitate further processing of the desired information.

  • Patent number: 8855147
Abstract: A method includes receiving, at a transmit site, a first stream of packets addressed to an end user device in a first address space. The first stream of packets is encapsulated to form a second stream of packets addressed in a second address space. A first packet of the second stream of packets is assigned to a first radio frequency channel of a plurality of radio frequency channels. A second packet of the second stream of packets is assigned to a second radio frequency channel of the plurality of radio frequency channels. The first packet is transmitted via the first radio frequency channel and, in parallel, the second packet is transmitted via the second radio frequency channel.
