Abstract: A hip exerciser includes a main stand, a front bracket and a rear bracket both pivotally connected to the main stand, at least one resilient member mounted between the front bracket and the rear bracket, a supporting bracket securely mounted on the main stand, a seat pivotally connected to the front bracket, and a backrest pivotally connected to the rear bracket. The hip exerciser further includes an extendable stand moveably extending from the main stand and controlled by a knob. Two shaft are pivotally connected with the extendable stand and two pedals are pivotally connected to free ends of the shaft. When a user sits on the seat and leans on the backrest to pivot the backrest, the front bracket and the rear bracket are also pivoted thus extending the resilient member to provide a resistance force, whereby hips of the user are exercised.

Abstract: A damping device for a stationary bicycle has a main wheel defining a side-opening chamber. The main wheel has a magnetic layer mounted thereon. Multiple clamping wheels are received in the side-opening chamber and sandwich a sleeve securely mounted on the main wheel. The clamping wheels are respectively connected to a driving disk. The driving disk is securely connected with a shaft. At least one damping member having at least one magnetic member is pivotally connected inside the side-opening chamber so as to generate magnetic force with the magnetic layer of the main wheel.

In one embodiment, a system for handling a voice frequency data call to a first termination telephone number associated with a service provider includes a first processor for recognizing and routing the voice frequency data call toward a data network via a first network modem and a converter for receiving the voice frequency data call from the first network modem and packetizing the voice frequency call into a packet switch call having at least a first packet transmittable toward the service provider via the data network interconnectable to the service provider.

Abstract: A process for manufacturing easily portable and multi-layered adhesive tape roll is described. The flat piece of easily portable and multi-layered adhesive tape is formed by compressing the adhesive tape roll having circular shape or other shapes. The adhesive tape roll is compressed and cohered during the compressing step. A stiff interfacial layer, for example, having adhesion by adhering two innermost adhesive surfaces, by providing a stronger adhesion material, by inserting a stiff and solid material, or a stiff and solid material coated with a strong adhesion material, is applied to the symmetry plane of the adhesive tape during the compressing step. The preferential material of the high adhesion material is a cyanoacrylate adhesive or an epoxy adhesive.

Abstract: A client installation and execution system for streamed applications requires the user or administrator to obtain a subscription to the streamed application program from a subscription server before installation of the streamed application program begins. The client then obtains an encrypted access token for the streamed application program from a license server upon acknowledgment of a valid license, receives an installation information block from the server, and installs the proper icons, aliases, and description onto the client that give the user the proper look and feel of the original application program. A file spoofer is installed on the client that redirects file accesses from the client's local file system to the streaming server's file system. A registry spoofer is provided on the client for intercepting all registry calls on the client and redirecting calls that manipulate certain registries to an alternate path specified in a registry database on the client.

Abstract: A step exerciser has a base, two pedal assemblies, a segmented vertical bar, a handle and a seat. The segmented vertical bar comprises an upper bar and a middle bar and is connected to the base. The handle is adjustably attached to the upper bar. The seat is foldably attached to the upper bar. With such an exerciser, the handle and the seat can be respectively adjusted relative to the upper bar, such that the step exerciser can be adjusted for use in different positions, and a user can use the step exerciser in a standing or a sitting position. The use of the step exerciser becomes more versatile.

Abstract: A conventionally coded application conversion system for streamed delivery and execution converts locally installable applications into a data set suitable for streaming over a network. The invention monitors two classes of information during an application installation on a local computer system. System registry modifications are monitored and the modification data are recorded when the installation program writes to the registry of the local computer system. File modification data are logged each time an installation program modifies a file on the system. This data is used to create an initialization data set which is the first set of data to be streamed from the server to the client and contains the information captured needed by the client to prepare the client machine for streaming a particular application. A runtime data set is also created that contains the rest of the data that is streamed to the client once the client machine is initialized for a particular application.

Abstract: The invention is a scalable modular network system, without a fixed size enclosure, that may include many kinds of voice and data components. In operation, the invention provides trans-coding transparency allowing effective communications between dissimilar data/voice data streams. The modular system includes unique power control and distribution methods. The invention also provides the methods to simplify network-provisioning tasks because of the method of intelligently determining network information. The placement of the invention is not required to be in a central wiring location because the gateway system automatic adapts to having its components in distributed physical locations.

Abstract: A process for manufacturing a flat adhesive tape comprises: providing a stiff interfacial sheet having a flat and solid form; surrounding the stiff interfacial sheet with a plurality of adhesive layers so as to form a roll of the adhesive layers with the stiff interfacial sheet positioned on a symmetric plane of the roll; and compressing the roll to form the flat adhesive tape. The stiff interfacial sheet can have a length slightly longer than a half-length of an innermost circumference of the roll of the adhesive layers. A layer of high adhesion material containing uncured high cross-linking epoxy or uncured high cross-linking cyanoacrylate can be provided between the stiff interfacial sheet and the adhesive layers. After compressing the roll of the adhesive layers, the high adhesion material is cured to form the flat adhesive tape.

Abstract: For high-speed data transmission in a digital mobile system, the mobile network allocates n parallel rate-adapted traffic channels to a high-speed user data signal which requires a data transfer rate R.sub.user within a range (n-1)*R.sub.ch <R.sub.user <n*R.sub.ch, wherein R.sub.ch is the maximum transmission rate of a single traffic channel. The user data signal is divided in the transmitter into transmission frames (L, L+1, L+2) for transmission via the parallel traffic channels (ch1-chn) in such a way that all the information bits in the transmission frames of n-1 traffic channels carry user data bits (DATA), and the user data transfer rate of each of the n-1 traffic channels is R.sub.ch. In the frames of the nth traffic channel (chn) the number of the information bits carrying user data bits (DATA) is selected to correspond to the user data rate R.sub.user -(n-1)*R.sub.ch exceeding the capacity of the other n-1 traffic channels.

The screw has an engaging end for engaging with the barrel and for allowing the screw to be driven by the shaft.
