  • Publication number: 20210094369
Abstract: An air deflector that is at least partially disposable within a tubeless tire of a bicycle wheel includes a body. The body includes at least one wall defining an air input end and an air output end of the body. The body is attachable to a valve of the tubeless tire at the air input end, such that when air is introduced into the body via the valve, at least some of the air is deflectable by one or more walls of the at least one wall out of the body at the air output end.

  • Publication number: 20200122502
Abstract: A rim assembly for a bicycle wheel includes a rim and a cover. The rim includes a radially inner portion disposed along an inner circumference of the rim, a first sidewall, and a second sidewall spaced apart from the first sidewall. The first sidewall and the second sidewall extend radially outward form the radially inner portion. The rim also includes a radially outer tire engaging portion disposed along an outer circumference of the rim and. The radially outer tire engaging portion extends from the first sidewall and the second sidewall, respectively. A portion of the radially outer tire engaging portion defines a well disposed between the first sidewall and the second sidewall, opposite the radially inner portion. The rim assembly also includes a cover disposed in the well of the rim. The cover includes one or more openings that extend at least partially through the cover.

  • Publication number: 20200114680
Abstract: A rim for a bicycle wheel includes a radially inner portion disposed along an inner circumference of the rim. The rim also includes a first sidewall and a second sidewall spaced apart from the first sidewall. The first sidewall and the second sidewall extend radially outward from the radially inner portion. The first sidewall includes a layer of a composite material. The layer of the composite material includes fabric plies of the composite material that are shaped as strips. The composite material includes a matrix of a polymer-based material and fibers of a reinforcing material. The strips include a first strip and a second strip. The second strip is adjacent to the first strip within the layer of the composite material. The second strip is nonparallel to the first strip.

  • Patent number: 10594235
Abstract: An axial flux motor has a rotor mounted about an axis of rotation. Permanent magnets are mounted on a first axial face of the rotor and a predetermined encoder pattern is provided on the surface of a second axial face of the rotor. A stator is positioned on one side of the rotor adjacent to the first axial face of the rotor. A sensor is mounted on the other side of the rotor adjacent to the second axial face of the rotor. The sensor outputs signals corresponding to the encoder pattern on the surface of the second axial face of the rotor. A motor control system is coupled to receive the signals from the sensor and calculates a speed of rotation of the rotor based on the signals from the sensor. In addition, the motor control system may calculate rotor position information, relative or absolute, based on the encoder pattern.

  • Publication number: 20190308446
Abstract: A rim for a bicycle wheel includes a radially outer tire engaging portion having a first tire retaining portion and a second tire retaining portion spaced apart from the first tire retaining portion. The first tire retaining portion includes a first tire retaining section having a first outer wall and a first tire retaining wall opposite and spaced apart from the first outer wall. The second tire retaining portion includes a second tire retaining section having a second outer wall and a second tire retaining wall opposite and spaced apart from the second outer wall. The radially outer tire engaging portion is made of a composite material. The first outer wall and the first tire retaining wall, and the second outer wall and the second tire retaining wall, respectively, are separated by a material having a lower density than the composite material.

  • Publication number: 20190014068
Abstract: A collaboration system provides a combination of technical features to address complex collaboration between geographically distributed teams. The collaboration system implements follow and notify functionality, monitor and engage functionality, and capture functionality. The collaboration system may, for instance, tailor data flows and notifications of significant workflow events via a dynamically tuned subscription model. The system may also create a digital collaboration workspace supported by automation and machine learning functionality. In addition, the system may create documentation of collaboration with automatic recommendation of metadata tags to support search and cataloging of the documentation.
