  • Publication number: 20200300979
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to limitation of noise on light detectors using an aperture. One example implementation includes a system. The system includes a lens disposed relative to a scene. The lens focuses light from the scene. The system also includes an opaque material that defines an aperture. The system also includes a waveguide having a first side that receives light focused by the lens and transmitted through the aperture. The waveguide guides the received light toward a second side of the waveguide opposite to the first side. The waveguide has a third side extending between the first side and the second side. The system also includes a mirror that reflects the guided light toward the third side of the waveguide. The system also includes an array of light detectors that detects the reflected light propagating out of the third side.

  • Patent number: 10779022
Abstract: System and methods for aligning event data recorded by recording devices. Recording devices create, transmit, and store alignment data. Alignment data created by a recording device is stored in the memory of the recording device with a time that is maintained by the recording device and that is relative to the time of event data recorded by the recording device that creates the alignment data. Recording devices further receive and store transmitted alignment data. Alignment data received by a recording device is stored in the memory of the recording device with a time that is maintained by the receiving recording device and that is relative to the time of event data recorded by the recording device that creates alignment data. Stored alignment data may be used to align the playback of event data of devices that have the same alignment data. Alignment data may include information as to the recording status of the device that transmits the alignment data. Recording status may be reported.

  • Patent number: 10774472
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to cellulose nanomaterials made or derived from tobacco and methods for the production thereof. The tobacco-derived cellulose nanomaterials can be employed in various industrial applications such as film forming applications and solution thickening technologies. In particular, the disclosure is directed to methods for preparing tobacco-derived cellulose nanomaterials using less fibrillation cycles than in the production of wood pulp. The invention includes a method for preparing tobacco derived nanocellulose material comprising receiving a tobacco pulp in a dilute form such that the tobacco pulp is a tobacco pulp suspension with a consistency of less than about 5%; and mechanically fibrillating the tobacco pulp suspension to generate a tobacco derived nanocellulose material having at least one average particle size dimension in the range of about 1 nm to about 100 nm.

  • Publication number: 20200232042
Abstract: Methods and compositions are provided for determining whether an adenocarcinoma or squamous cell carcinoma patient is likely to respond to PARP inhibitor treatment. Specifically, a method of assessing whether a patient's adenocarcinoma (AD) lung cancer subtype is terminal respiratory unit (TRU), proximal inflammatory (PI), or proximal proliferative (PP) or a patient's squamous cell carcinoma (SQ) is primitive, classical, secretory or basal is provided herein. The method entails detecting the levels of classifier biomarkers at the nucleic acid level, in an AD or SQ lung cancer sample obtained from the patient. Based in part on the levels of the classifier biomarkers, the AD lung cancer sample is classified as a TRU, PI, or PP AD sample or the SQ lung cancer sample is classified as primitive, classical, secretory or basal and a determination of whether the patient is likely to respond to PARP inhibitor treatment can be made.

  • Patent number: 10695679
Abstract: One particular implementation of the present invention may take the form of a method and apparatus for providing various movements as input to a video game. The method and apparatus may detect the body movements of a video game player and interpret those movements as inputs to the video game. The video game may then compare the movements of the user to expected movements to determine if the correct movement was performed by the user. The video game may also display a video game environment that instructs and interacts with the user to perform several movements of the video game. In this manner, the method and apparatus may provide a move realistic and dynamic video game experience than previous video games that only allowed the player to press buttons as inputs to the game.

  • Patent number: 10638522
Abstract: Various technologies described herein pertain to configuring an access point in a local network for operation in a community Wi-Fi network. The community Wi-Fi network includes access points in differing local networks that share respective network bandwidth capacities with member computing devices of the community Wi-Fi network. A request to join the access point to the community Wi-Fi network is transmitted from the access point to a community aggregation system. Responsive to the request, the community aggregation system transmits a firmware update to the access point. The access point installs the firmware update in memory of the access point. Moreover, responsive to installation of the firmware update, the access point can share network bandwidth capacity with the member computing devices of the community Wi-Fi network. Further, the community aggregation system supports transparent handoffs between access points in to the community Wi-Fi network.

  • Patent number: 10621203
Abstract: In embodiments, systems and methods may involve using a platform as disclosed herein for applications described herein where the systems and methods involve receiving a dataset in an analytic platform, the dataset including fact data and dimension data for a plurality of distinct product categories. It may also involve storing the data in a flexible hierarchy, the hierarchy allowing the temporary fixing of data along a dimension and flexible querying along other dimensions of the data. It may also involve pre-aggregating certain combinations of data to facilitate rapid querying, the pre-aggregation based on the nature of common queries. It may also involve facilitating the presentation of a cross-category view of an analytic query of the dataset. In embodiments, the temporarily fixed dimension can be rendered flexible upon an action by the user.

  • Patent number: 10582550
Abstract: Embodiments produce a set of instructions for connecting to a network through a network access point based on data crowdsourced from mobile computing devices. The crowdsourced data describes interactions between the mobile computing devices and the network access point when establishing a connection to the network. A cloud service analyzes the crowdsourced data to identify a set of instructions for association with the network access point. The mobile computing devices replay the set of instructions when subsequently attempting to connect to the network access point.

  • Patent number: 10559001
Abstract: This disclosure describes systems, methods, and computer-readable media related to retargeting online advertisement campaign recommendations for advertisements with multiple items or services. Bids may be based on a combined advertisement creative comprising two or more items or services. Dynamically selecting multiple items at bid time using a retargeting model to determine a potential revenue generation amount associated with an event may increase the probability of a conversion event based on the creative that includes the selected items. In some embodiments, a machine-learned retargeting model may be used to select multiple items to be displayed in an advertisement. The retargeting model may be applied to items that were previously viewed by the consumer and may determine a value for each of the items using factors. A bid may be calculated for each of the selected items using the values determined by the retargeting model.
