  • Publication number: 20240324563
Abstract: A seine net position measurement system utilizes a plurality of sensor modules coupled to the seine net to determine the seine net position by recovering seine net position data, such as depth data, upon retraction of the seine net to the boat. The sensor modules may be configured proximal to the bottom of the net or the leadline. A depth profile of the net, as well as a rate of sinking of the net may be determined from the position data. The sensor modules have a sensor wireless signal transceiver that transmits a wireless signal to a wireless signal transceiver that sends the data to a computer for processing. The computer may be on the boat or part of a cloud computing system. This system is economical and enable a large number of sensor modules to be used to provide better accuracy of the net position.
