  • Publication number: 20170124042
Abstract: Systems and methods for associated one or more images with one or more cells of a spreadsheet are described. As described, a plurality of images may be associated with a single cell or a single image may be associated with a range of cells. Additionally, an image and additional data may be associated with the same cell. Upon associating an image with a cell, various parameters of the image may be displayed for viewing and/or customization by a user. Additionally, sort and/or filter operations may be performed on the spreadsheet based on the various parameters of associated images and/or operations (e.g., fit and/or resize operations) may be performed on various parameters of associated images. An associated image may move with a cell when the cell is reordered within the cell table, or an associated image may be allowed to float over the grid but may be referenced by a cell.

  • Publication number: 20170120056
Abstract: An implantable pulse generator includes a current steering capability that allows a clinician or patient to quickly determine a desired electrode stimulation pattern, including which electrodes of a group of electrodes within an electrode array should receive a stimulation current, including the amplitude, width and pulse repetition rate of such current. Movement of the selected group of electrodes is facilitated through the use of remotely generated directional signals, generated by a pointing device, such as a joystick. As movement of the selected group of electrodes occurs, current redistribution amongst the various electrode contacts takes place. The redistribution of stimulus amplitudes utilizes re-normalization of amplitudes so that the perceptual level remains fairly constant. This prevents the resulting paresthesia from falling below the perceptual threshold or above the comfort threshold.

  • Publication number: 20170125207
Abstract: The present invention provides a method for optimizing a shaped working beam having a sharp edge for making sufficiently precise cuts and a high beam current for faster processing. An ion beam is directed along an optical column through a reference aperture to form a reference beam that has a preferred shape and an associated reference current. The reference beam is optimized using selected parameters of the optical components within the optical column. The ion beam is then directed through a working aperture to form a working beam for use in a processing application. The working beam has a different shape from the reference beam and an associated working current that is higher than the reference current. The reference aperture and working aperture have at least one corresponding dimension. The working beam is then optimized using the selected optical component parameters used to align and focus the reference beam.

  • Publication number: 20170123866
Abstract: Disclosed herein are methods and systems for hardware-accelerating various data processing operations in a rule-based decision-making system such as a business rules engine, an event stream processor, and a complex event stream processor. Preferably, incoming data streams are checked against a plurality of rule conditions. Among the data processing operations that are hardware-accelerated include rule condition check operations, filtering operations, and path merging operations. The rule condition check operations generate rule condition check results for the processed data streams, wherein the rule condition check results are indicative of any rule conditions which have been satisfied by the data streams. The generation of such results with a low degree of latency provides enterprises with the ability to perform timely decision-making based on the data present in received data streams.

  • Publication number: 20170123395
Abstract: The invention provides a means for allowing an end user to determine how a finite amount of a measurable resource is allocated among the various balanceable and feature zones of control defined within, the overall measurable resource control system, and which, can be implemented using a wide variety of hardware/components. A control program allows the end user unprecedented flexibility and control to determine how the resource is allocated among the various zones or types of resource use within the application, as long as the total resource consumed does not exceed the predetermined/predefined total maximum allowable resource. When the end user adjusts a feature or balanceable zone level, the control program adjusts the other balanceable zones based on predefined algorithms, when necessary, to ensure that the maximum measurable resource consumed by the system does not exceed the predetermined/predefined overall maximum resource allocation. The invention is scalable and can be infinitely nested.

  • Publication number: 20170126658
Abstract: A system and method establishes a connection between a smart pen and a computing device, and establishes a privilege level that regulates data requests for specific data from the smart pen. The smart pen determines whether a connection should be established between the smart pen and a computing device, based on device information received from the computing device. If a connection is established, a privilege level is established for an application executing on the computing device based on the device information, which determines whether a request from the application for specific data from the smart pen is allowed or denied.

  • Publication number: 20170122224
Abstract: A slider control module, based on a mode command: selectively extends pins into one or more slider actuators of a camshaft slider. Contact between the pins and the grooves in the slider actuator(s) during rotation of a camshaft slides the camshaft slider axially along the intake camshaft. An actual mode module: determines a last stored indicator of the mode command; commands the slider control module to extend one of the pins to slide the camshaft slider and achieve the last stored indicator of the mode command; and, based on whether the one of the pins extended in response to the command, indicates that an actual mode is either: (i) the last stored indicator of the mode command; or (ii) another mode. The mode command module updates the mode command to the actual mode.
