A second wall adjoins the first wall and is arranged about the outer circumference providing a second channel in fluid communication with the first channels, thus, providing a tortuous fluid flow path about the circumference. The first and second channels have an inner surface. A structure is provided within at least one of the first and second channels. The structure has an outer surface spaced radially outward from the inner surface and at least partially defines the tortuous flow path between the outer and inner surfaces. The stator includes an end turn. An end cap extends axially and radially outward from the stator and provides an enclosure about the end turn in fluid communication with the exit associated with the flow path.

    Abstract: An AC-AC power converter supplies AC power to an AC motor having a plurality of motor windings and a case connected to a ground. The AC-AC power converter architecture includes an asymmetric phase shift autotransformer/rectifier unit (ATRU) that converts an AC input to a DC output, wherein the asymmetric phase shift ATRU generates a common-mode AC voltage across the asymmetric phase shift ATRU. The common mode voltage is diverted to ground through motor case parasitic capacitance via a common-mode voltage pull-down circuit connected between each phase of the ATRU AC input and the ground.

    Abstract: An electronics cooling system comprises a tubular fan duct and an electronics housing. The fan duct includes has a fan duct casing containing a fan with rotor blades and stator vanes. The electronics housing is mounted directly on the tubular fan duct, such that the electronics housing and the fan duct casing together enclose an interior space. A cooling airflow path extends from a high-pressure region of the tubular fan duct, through an inlet hole into the interior space, and out a bleed hole into a surrounding environment. The electronics cooling system further comprises three electronics mounts within the interior space. A first electronics mount is located immediately adjacent to the inlet hole, on the fan duct. A second electronics mount is located immediately radially outward of the stator vanes, on the fan duct. A third electronics mount is located immediately adjacent to the bleed hole, on the housing.
