  • Publication number: 20130324060
Abstract: A mobile communications device may include an RE signal source configured to generate RF signals over an RE frequency band(s), and an RF transmitter coupled to the RE signal source. The RF transmitter may include an RF amplifier configured to operate over a plurality of different power control levels. The RF amplifier may have an input configured to receive the RF signals from the RF signal source and an output having an impedance which changes based upon changes between the different power control levels. The RF transmitter may further include a shunt resistor(s) coupling the output of the amplifier to a voltage reference, and the shunt resistor(s) may be configured to decrease a highest impedance change of the RE amplifier output to below a threshold impedance level. An antenna(s) may be coupled to the output of the RF amplifier to operate over the at least one RF frequency band.

  • Patent number: 8549483
Abstract: Embodiments of a system (such as a computer system), a method, and a computer-program product (e.g., software) for use with the computer system are described. These embodiments may be used to test software that includes instructions for a graphical user interface with objects that receive values in associated fields. In particular, during testing, the system identifies the objects and associated expected values in the software, tests the software based on the identified objects and the expected values, and generates a flow file which includes the testing operations and corresponding results. Moreover, during the testing, the system may generate a compliance document which includes the testing operations and the results.

  • Publication number: 20130239908
Abstract: A steam generator includes a lower integrated tubesheet and plenum (ITP) configured to receive feedwater and a first set of heat transfer tubes fluidly coupled to a plurality of stubs protruding from a first side of the lower ITP. A second set of heat transfer tubes fluidly couples to plurality of stubs protruding from a second side of the lower ITP. The first set of heat transfer tubes is coiled in a substantially clock-wise direction, and the second set of heat transfer tubes is coiled in a substantially counter-clockwise direction. The steam generator further includes an upper ITP fluidly coupled to the first and second set of heat transfer tubes, wherein the feedwater entering the lower ITP is converted to steam in the first and second sets of heat transfer tubes. The upper ITP is configured to transport the steam away from the steam generator.

  • Publication number: 20130216756
Abstract: A composite part includes a first composite section and a second composite section connected by a flexible section. The first composite section has a laminated structure including multiple layers of reinforcement material supported by a matrix material. The second composite section has a laminated structure including multiple layers of reinforcement material supported by a matrix material, and a flexible composite section joins the first composite section to the second composite section. The flexible composite includes multiple layers of a fabric material supported by a flexible elastomer. The multiple layers of the fabric material overlap with the first composite section and the second composite section by being layered in between at least a portion of the multiple layers of reinforcement material forming the laminated structures of the first composite section and the second composite section.

  • Publication number: 20130022318
Abstract: A modified communication cable and terminal connector provides an effective combination to accommodate the transmission of signals over fiber optic conductors. The terminal connector includes a light transmitter, a light receiver and interface circuitry such that the connector exchanges signals over electrical conductors. The connector receives and engages fiber optic conductors and an alignment ferrule completes a connection with a fixed lens of the transmitter or receiver. The particular arrangement requires cleaving of the fiber optic conductors but avoids steps such as polishing and gluing.

Abstract: The Adjustable Bush Trimmings Tarp (10) is a tarp made up of six pieces of a heavy duty pliable material such as heavy cloth, canvas, or a polyethylene type material. The tarp (10) is positioned around a bush (7) or in front of a series of bushes (7), that are set in a bed of a decorative bedding material (9) such as rocks, stones, wood chips, etc. The tarp (10) covers the decorative material (9) in such a way, so that when the bush (7) or bushes (7) are trimmed, the trimmings (8) fall onto the tarp (10) instead falling onto or into the decorative bedding material (9). Then the tarp (10) is disconnected at one of the hook and loop fasteners and simply rolling up the tarp (10) with the trimmings (8) inside and disposing of the trimmings (8) by unrolling the tarp (10) in a refuse container, refuse bag, lawn cart, or wheelbarrel.

  • Patent number: 7337994
Abstract: Rope made of cellulose fibers, the polymeric chemical structure of which fibers has not been modified (referred to as “raw” cellulose fibers), are subjected to intense electron beam irradiation insufficient to degrade their chemical structure but sufficient to modify their physical structure so as to allow them to be comminuted into fragments having a length no more than 6.35 mm (0.25?), preferably less than 3.175 mm (0.125?), and preferably 50% by weight of the fibers have a length less than 70 ?m. Such fragments of fibers are found to be particularly susceptible to being micronized in a micronizer into elongated granular fragments smaller than about 20 ?m at an economical production rate in excess of 22.7 Kg/hr (50 lb/hr) which was not possible when the micronizer was fed with naturally occurring fibers.
