  • Patent number: 7600046
Abstract: A method, apparatus, computer program product, and computer system for ensuring consistency between data displayed by multiple independent client programs that can simultaneously display server-provided data. The data are accessible only from a server that is not persistently connected to the client computer systems) displaying the data, so the client programs cannot retrieve the data independently without sending a request to the server. Client programs do not poll the server by sending a request to learn that data capable of being displayed by the multiple client programs have been updated. Instead, client programs are notified by the server program receiving the request to change the data at the time the request is received.

  • Publication number: 20090044513
Abstract: A method of managing transient events regularly seen during gas turbine operation that may cause undesirable operation and hardware damage. During certain transient operations, a lag may be seen between reference exhaust temperature and actual turbine exhaust temperature. This lag can result in an under-fired condition within the combustion system of variable magnitude and duration. Either fuel split schedules or a control algorithm can be positioned during these transients to prevent combustion dynamics or loss of flame. Combustion dynamics are known to cause damage that may require hardware replacement. Once the transient has completed, normal control operation is resumed.

  • Patent number: 7186298
Abstract: A wafer support system comprising a segmented susceptor having top and bottom sections and gas flow passages therethrough. A plurality of spacers projecting from a recess formed in the top section of the susceptor support a wafer in spaced relationship with respect to the recess. A sweep gas is introduced to the bottom section of the segmented susceptor and travels through the gas flow passages to exit in at least one circular array of outlets in the recess and underneath the spaced wafer. The sweep gas travels radially outward between the susceptor and wafer to prevent back-side contamination of the wafer. The gas is delivered through a hollow drive shaft and into a multi-armed susceptor support underneath the susceptor. The support arms conduct the sweep gas from the drive shaft to the gas passages in the segmented susceptor. The gas passages are arranged to heat the sweep gas prior to delivery underneath the wafer.

  • Patent number: 7181916
Abstract: A method for combustion in a combustor in a gas turbine including: fueling the center fuel nozzle with a fuel-rich mixture of gaseous fuel and air and fueling the outer fuel nozzles with a fuel-lean mixture of fuel and air; igniting the fuel-rich mixture injected by the center fuel nozzle while the fuel-lean mixture injected by the outer combustors is insufficient to sustain ignition; stabilizing a flame on the center fuel nozzle using the bluff body and while the outer fuel nozzles inject the fuel-lean mixture; staging fuel to the outer nozzles by increasing a fuel ratio of the fuel-lean mixture, and after the outer nozzles sustain ignition, reducing fuel applied to the center nozzle.

  • Patent number: 7172150
Abstract: A retractable reel apparatus for connecting the electrical wiring on a trailer to the electrical system of a towing vehicle. The apparatus comprises a housing with a reel rotatably disposed therein. A wire has a first portion wrapped in a first direction around the reel and a second portion counter-wrapped in a second direction within the first portion. A first end of the wire extends through a first opening in the apparatus, and a second end of the wire extends through a second opening. The second end of the wire is stationary. By pulling on the first end of the wire, the first end may be extended from the housing. A torsion spring biases the reel so that the wire tends to retract back into the housing when tension on the first end of the wire is released. Numerous mounting arrangements for the apparatus are disclosed.

  • Patent number: 6962215
Abstract: Equipment and methods which may be used in conjunction with an underbalanced well completion. In a described embodiment, a valve for use in a subterranean well in conjunction with a tool conveyed through the valve in a container is provided. The valve includes a passage formed longitudinally through the valve, a closure assembly which selectively permits and prevents flow through the passage, and an engagement device which engages the container as the tool is conveyed through the passage. The closure assembly permits flow through the passage when the container is conveyed into the passage, and the closure assembly prevents flow through the passage when the container is removed from the passage. Engagement between the container and the engagement device separates the tool from the container.

  • Patent number: 6608287
Abstract: The chamber has a lenticular cross-section with a horizontal support plate extending between sides of the chamber. A rectangular aperture is formed in the support plate for positioning a rotatable susceptor. A temperature compensation ring surrounds the susceptor and is supported by fingers connected to the support plate. The ring may be circular or may conform to the shape of the support plate aperture. The ring may extend farther downstream from the susceptor than upstream. A sacrificial quartz plate may be provided between the circular ring and the rectangular aperture. The quartz plate may have a horizontal portion and a vertical lip in close abutment with the aperture to prevent devitrification of the support plate. A gas injector abuts an inlet flange of the chamber and injects process gas into an upper region and purge gas into a lower region.
