  • Patent number: 6456917
Abstract: The invention relates to an automatic transmission of a motor vehicle which is controlled by an electronic transmission control system which continuously exchanges signals with a digital engine electronics system of an internal combustion engine. To reduce the thermal load on the automatic transmission in emergency operating mode, a transmission-independent program module (M1) of the digital engine electronics system sets an admissible maximum vehicle speed for the emergency operating mode (v_max_not) or an admissible maximum engine speed for the emergency operating mode (n_mot_max_not).

  • Publication number: 20020020720
Abstract: A device for storing and dispensing a medium includes a container for storing a medium to be dispensed and a dispensing device which is connected to the container and serves to vaporize, spray or pump the medium stored in the container. The dispensing device is provided with a filling opening through which the container can be filled with the medium to be dispensed by the dispensing device. The dispensing device is configured in such a way that a medium filled into the filling opening passes through the dispensing device. The filling opening, through which the container can be filled with the medium to be dispensed by the dispensing device, is inclined with respect to the horizontal when the device is in a vertical position. In this way the container can be filled simply, rapidly and cleanly.

  • Patent number: 6080315
Abstract: In a process for the partial desalination of water, especially of drinking water, with a mixture of weakly acid cation exchangers and strongly basic anion exchangers, whereby the charged ion exchangers are regenerated by CO.sub.2 -containing water, if required, with the addition of CaCO.sub.3, CaCO.sub.3 /MgO, Ca(OH).sub.2 or the like. Simultaneous with the partial desalination, the organic carbon compounds present in the water are reduced, whereby the charged ion exchangers are intermittently regenerated with HCl, NaCl, NaOH, or a mixture of NaCl and NaOH.

  • Patent number: 5852931
Abstract: An automatic transmission, in particular an infinitely variable automatic transmission for motor vehicles, contains a radial piston pump (1) for supplying a hydrodynamic converter (3), a lubricating device and control and actuating devices of the automatic transmission via a number of control conduits. Radially outside of its outlet valves, the radial piston pump (1) contains an annular chamber (22), which extends around the radial piston pump (1). The annular chamber (22) is embodied as a damping chamber and is mainly arranged in a recess (23) of the converter housing (2), and therefore almost completely outside of the pump housing (17). The annular chamber (22) is bordered by the recess (23) of the converter housing (2), the pump housing (17) and/or a separate pump cover (24). The annular chamber (22) is not symmetric and with its volume extends into the adjoining free spaces of the automatic transmission.

  • Patent number: 5720408
Abstract: A closure for cans or tins of different diameters having an edge bead. A spring component with a loop-like protrusion is guided in a radial slide guide on the underside of a plate-like basic component of the closure. The loop-shaped web facing the tin merges into the face edge web which thus elastically grips beneath the edge bead of the tin. The loop-shaped web facing away from the tin is supported on the basic component and thus provides the spring loading.

  • Patent number: 5630452
Abstract: A special design of a funnel for filling liquids safely especially into nontransparent containers, e.g., fuel tanks of lawn mowers. To indicate the filling level of the container, a measuring rod of a float is guided in a perforated plate of the funnel. Passage slots, through which the liquid filled into the funnel can enter the container, are located in the funnel tube under the perforated plate. Due to buoyancy, the float strikes the underside of the perforated plate, and as a result it prevents the container from being overfilled.

  • Patent number: 5063366
Abstract: Disclosed is an electromagnetic relay whose armature assembly is protected against jarring impacts. The armature assembly is tiltably supported in a recess stamped out in an end portion of the magnetic yoke of the relay. Lateral inner walls of the recess are formed at their free ends with shoulders for engaging a flat biasing spring of the armature assembly. At least one lateral portion of the magnetic yoke delimiting the recess is formed with a constricted region, for example with a cutout in a corner between an inner wall and the bottom wall of the recess. The constriction permits the bending of the lateral projection into an open condition in which the corresponding shoulder is out of the way during the insertion of the armature assembly into the recess. Upon the insertion, the lateral projection is bent toward the armature until the corresponding shoulder overlaps the armature edge.
