Abstract: The sensitivity and, especially, the selectivity of a polarographic device can be increased by using an ion selective electrode as the working electrode in the electrochemical cell. The cell is a high sensitivity gas detector which is reliable in operation and which is particularly suitable for use in the field of environmental protection. Especially silver/silver iodide electrodes used in various electrolytes are particularly suitable for detecting hydrocyanic acid, phosgene and hydrogen sulphide.

Abstract: An apparatus to make articles, in particular bottles, from parisons in a blow mold operation. The parisons are carried on transfer mandrels throughout the operation. The parisons riding on the transfer mandrels are heated while travelling around on a first wheel and are transferred into blow mold units mounted on a second wheel. Each blow mold unit is provided with an expanding mandrel which is extended through the transfer mandrel into the parisons. Two different blowing pressures are used in the blowing step which is controlled by cam controlled valves. From the second wheel the mandrels carrying the blown articles are transferred to an output wheel where the articles are removed from the transfer mandrels which are returned to the first wheel.

Abstract: An electrochemical cell having a polarographic device and preferably containing formamide as electrolyte is suitable for detecting very small quantities of phosgene in a gas mixture. Water, sodium acetate and thickener may be added to the electrolyte.

Abstract: Aqueous vehicles for insoluble or sparingly soluble medicaments suitable for parenteral administration are disclosed. The subject vehicles contain, in addition to pharmaceutical adjunct materials to render them isotonic, preserve them and the like, a micelle forming agent comprising cholic acid or a derivative thereof in combination with a lipoid.

Abstract: An electrochemical cell suitable for detecting traces of hydrogen sulphide in a gaseous mixture. Silver / silver sulphide electrodes are embedded in a polarographic arrangement in a gel-like electrolyte wherein the film adjacent to the auxiliary electrode contains a depolarizer. The gas detector is characterized by freedom from the need for maintenance and a high sensitivity which remains constant for a long period.

Abstract: Injection device for injecting fuel into a combustion space such as an auxiliary combustion space of an external auto-ignition internal combustion engine of the type operating on the stratified-charge principle. The injection device includes a housing accommodating a movable pump plunger, a movable nozzle needle controlling the nozzle orifice opening into the auxiliary combustion space, and a movable piston-type storer. The pump plunger is configured to close off respective fuel return and fuel supply lines during its pumping stroke, at which time it effects a build up of pressure resulting in movement of the piston type storer until a predetermined sufficient pressure is reached to force the nozzle needle away from the closed position to thereby effect injection of fuel into the auxiliary combustion space.

Abstract: A cigarette packet of a laminated sheeting is disclosed which comprises an outer, thermally-bonded weldable layer, and wherein the end flaps of the blank forming the packet are joined to each other and project beyond the end sides. The end flaps are folded in such a way that an inner, longitudinal end flap bears on the packet contents, and two side end flaps are folded on this longitudinal end flap, and a second outer longitudinal end flap on the side of the first inner longitudinal end flap. The particular improvement disclosed utilizes a laminated foil having on both sides an outer thermally bondable layer, which extends over the entire end face of the layer and along an edge turned toward the edge of the inner longitudinal end flap. The side end flaps are joined at their diagonals along a welding strip which extends on a diagonal fold line adjoining the weld strip which extends along the length of the end face.
