  • Patent number: 11422734
Abstract: Storage devices can be configured to desirably reduce the number of times a zone reset or erasure occur via the use of one or more paired overwrite memory blocks. These storage devices can include a plurality of memory devices with some of these memory devices designated as overwrite memory devices. A controller within the storage device can be configured to direct the storage device to generate one or more subsets within the memory devices such as zones, pair each of subsets with at least one or more overwrite memory devices, store data sequentially within the subset of memory devices, and store any received overwrite data in the overwrite memory devices in chronological order. Data stored within the subsets of memory devices are not erased and instead of being overwritten directly, are instead pointed via a control table to a location in the overwrite memory devices storing the corresponding overwrite data.

  • Patent number: 11416166
Abstract: Systems and methods for distributed storage and processing systems using estimate-based schedulers are described. A node receives estimated processing data for each storage device including redundant copies of data chunks for a data unit. The node determines, based on the estimated processing data and data paths to each data chunk, a task time estimate for data paths to each data chunk and selects data paths for at least one copy of each data chunk to be processed using a corresponding set of compute tasks. The compute tasks are sent for processing based on the assignments of the node.

  • Patent number: 11418609
Abstract: A computer is used to identify objects related to an event using networked computer system resources. A request is received to assess objects within a vicinity of an event for uses related to the event. A type of event is determined and objects identified within the vicinity. The identified objects are assessed for applicability relating to the event. The identified objects are scored based on applicability of each of the identified objects to the event. The identified objects are ranked based on the score for each of the identified objects, and based on accessibility factors for each of the identified objects, and the accessibility factors include locations of the identified objects, respectively, within the vicinity. A notification is sent to a user's device with the ranking for viewing by a user on a display of the user's device.

  • Patent number: 11412077
Abstract: A multi-logical port data traffic stream preservation system includes a networking device coupled to a computing device via its physical port, a first networking fabric via a first uplink, and a second networking fabric via a second uplink. The networking device receives communications from the computing device that identify first and second logical ports provided using the physical port on the computing device, a first data traffic type associated with the first networking fabric and transmitted on the first logical port, and a second data traffic type associated with the second networking fabric and transmitted on the second logical port. If the first uplink becomes unavailable, the networking device transmits a communication to the computing device that causes the computing device to stop transmitting the first data traffic type via the first logical port while continuing to transmit the second data traffic type via the second logical port.

  • Patent number: 11382106
Abstract: A wireless communication system may support two types of networks, such as a 4th-Generation (4G) network and a 5th-Generation (5G) network. The 4G network is accessed through Long-Term Evolution (LTE) base stations. The 5G network is accessed through New Radio (NR) base stations. An LTE base station can be configured to broadcast information regarding whether it supports Non-Standalone Architecture (NSA) Dual Connectivity in conjunction with an associated NR base station. When a communication device receives an indication that NSA Dual Connectivity is available, the communication device selects a decision value based on the frequency bands that would be used during an NSA session anchored by the LTE base station. The communication device then uses the decision value in combination with the current 4G signal strength to determine whether 5G communications are currently available and whether to display a 5G symbol on the status bar of the communication device.

  • Publication number: 20220191624
Abstract: A MEMS sensor includes a through hole to allow communication with an external environment, such as to send or receive acoustic signals or to be exposed to the ambient environment. In addition to the information that is being measured, light energy may also enter the environment of the sensor via the through hole, causing short-term or long-term effects on measurements or system components. A light mitigating structure is formed on or attached to a lid of the MEMS die to absorb or selectively reflect the received light in a manner that limits effects on the measurements or interest and system components.

  • Patent number: 11358733
Abstract: A system and method for computing and displaying a fuel optimal idle deceleration start point which minimizes the overall auto throttle movement keeping the throttle at idle detent throughout the maneuver thus minimizing the fuel burn and stress on engine. The need for speed brakes deployment is also reduced because the deceleration distance length is accordingly adjusted based on current parameters. The accurate solution takes into account the current condition such as aircraft weight, altitude and speed and environmental parameters such as wind and temperature. The computed deceleration start point is displayed on map/navigation and vertical display for enhanced flight crew awareness.

  • Patent number: 11362904
Abstract: Technologies for enhanced network discovery and configuration include a network with a fabric manager and multiple network devices. A network device requests platform information from a management controller and receives the platform information via a sideband interface. The network device broadcasts a discovery message indicative of the platform information on a link layer network. The fabric manager discovers the network topology with an enhanced link layer discovery protocol and creates a vPOD in the network. The vPOD includes an application network with multiple racks. The fabric manager creates a tagged network domain for the vPOD. The fabric manager sends an out-of-band configuration command to the network device with a tag associated with the vPOD. After receiving the out-of-band configuration command, the network device receives a packet, compares domain metadata of the packet to the tag received from the fabric manager, and routes the packet. Other embodiments are described and claimed.

  • Publication number: 20220179975
Abstract: A blockchain architecture allows blocks to store both public and private data. The public data may be accessible to any node in the blockchain network, while the private data may be accessible only to nodes specified in an access list, which may be provided when a record is added to the blockchain. When a new record is received, any private fields in the record may be identified and encrypted by a receiving node. The key may then be encrypted and sent with the protected record to other nodes in the access list. These nodes can access the encryption key, decrypt the private fields, and provide a consensus decision to a receiving node. After consensus, the protected record may be added to the blockchain, where the public fields may be freely accessed by any node, and the private fields remain accessible only to nodes in the access list.
