  • Publication number: 20130007618
Abstract: Systems and methods for mixed-media content guidance are provided. One or more interactive tools are provided for searching and/or filtering media content (e.g., music content, movie content, etc.). In some embodiments, these interactive tools may include a two-dimensional selection region, where the two-dimensional selection region is divided into a plurality of sub-regions and defines an intersection between a first criterion and a second criterion. In response to receiving a user selection of a sub-region from the two-dimensional selection region, a subset of a plurality of media identifiers may be determined. At least a portion of the subset of media identifiers may be selected for presentation to the user.

  • Patent number: 8336290
Abstract: Axially spaced apart counter-rotatable forward and aft rows of forward and aft propellers mounted on forward and aft rotatable frames includes a flowpath passing through the forward and aft rotatable frames. Hydraulic rotary forward and aft pitch change actuators mounted on the aft rotatable frames are connected to and operable for controlling and setting pitch of the aft propellers. The pitch change actuators are mounted radially inwardly of the flowpath in a one to one ratio with forward and aft rotatable struts extending radially across the flowpath. One or more rotatable shafts extend through one or more of the rotatable struts and connect one or more of the pitch change actuators to one or more of the propellers. The pitch change actuators may be ganged together by unison rings having ring teeth engaging gear teeth on gears connected to the pitch change actuators or connected to the rotatable shafts.

  • Publication number: 20120275603
Abstract: A method and apparatus for providing improved intelligibility of contemporaneously perceived audio signals. Differentiation cues are added to monaural audio signals to allow a listener to more effectively comprehend information contained in one or more of the signals. In a specific embodiment, a listener wearing stereo headphones listens to simultaneous monaural radio broadcasts from different stations. A differentiation cue is added to at least one of the audio signals from the radio reception to allow the listener to more effectively focus on and differentiate between the broadcasts.

  • Patent number: 8200792
Abstract: Method, system, and computer program product example embodiments of the invention are disclosed to provide multi-network secure video teleconferencing (VTC) for VTC endpoints. The embodiments of the invention provide distributed components to perform the necessary operations, rather than co-locating the components in the VTC endpoint. Some system components are located with the VTC endpoint, other components are placed in a network operations center (NOC) and still other components are distributed on the various networks.

  • Patent number: 8156565
Abstract: Computer-readable media, computerized methods, and computer systems for protecting secure data by writing content of the secure data to a protected memory segment are provided. Initially, streaming media is received from a media-reading device and portions of the streaming media are identified as secure data. A data-management process to protect content within the secure data is executed. During execution, the protected memory segment is instantiated, a region of memory is dynamically allocated to hold the protected memory segment, and content of the secure data is written thereto. The protected memory segment is generally a data store that conditionally limits access thereto utilizing hardware-based rules, thereby guarding the content against exposure to unauthorized systems and to attackers. The region of memory may be allocated on CPU hardware, GPU hardware, or a combination thereof. The content may then be encrypted and released for conveyance to one or more presentation devices.

Hydraulic rotary forward and aft pitch change actuators on the frames are operable for controlling pitch of the propellers. A hydraulic fluid supply outboard of the frames is connected to forward and aft rotary unions which are operable for transferring hydraulic fluid between forward and aft union stators to forward and aft union rotors mounted within the forward and aft rotary unions. The forward union rotor is operable to transfer the hydraulic fluid from the forward rotary union to the aft pitch change actuators and the aft union rotor is operable to transfer the hydraulic fluid from the aft rotary unions to the forward pitch change actuators. The forward and aft rotatable frames counter-rotatably mounted on a structural frame located forward or aft of the propellers.

  • Patent number: 8130084
Abstract: A method, system, and computer program product are provided for communicating to a powered element in a rack system. A controller injects communication data onto power lines that provides power to a plurality of powered elements. The powered elements determine if the communication data transmitted via the power lines should be used for configuration using an address embedded within the communication data. The powered elements compare an embedded target address within the communication data to the address of the particular element. If there is a match between the addresses, the corresponding powered element processes the communication data to configure the powered element. As a result, data may be communicated over the power lines thereby eliminating the need for separate communication lines. Thus, the amount of cables required to interconnect the powered elements of the distributed data processing system may be reduced by eliminating the communication lines from the system configuration.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for increasing leakage resistance in a closed, pressurized system. The method involves providing a closed system including a container sealed with a septum having a top surface with an exposed section, which is maintained under a positive pressure of at least about 5 psig. A contact surface of a hard component is fixedly placed adjacent to or in contact with at least a portion of a border section or a central section of the exposed section of the septum, or both, to reduce the size of any bulge or deformation formed in the exposed section of the septum. The present invention also relates to a kit for increasing leakage resistance in a closed, pressurized system, which includes the hard component.
