Abstract: An apparatus and method to search content in a multimedia device, and more particularly, an apparatus and method to efficiently search content in a multimedia device using various metadata of the content, the apparatus including: a content storage unit to store content; a metadata storage unit to store metadata of the stored content; a user input unit to receive an input of a current arrangement standard, from one or more arrangement standards corresponding to the metadata, from a user; a content arrangement unit to arrange the stored content according to the current arrangement standard; and a user interface provision unit to provide a user interface that displays the arranged content.

Abstract: Disclosed are a terminal and a blogging method thereof. In the blogging method, a preview image displayed through a camera is recognized to acquire information of the preview image. It is determined whether there is a stored blog that has background information that is identical to the information of the preview image, and if a stored blog has background information that is identical to the information of the preview image, contents of the stored blog that uses the preview image as its background are imported and the imported contents are displayed on the preview image.

Abstract: A method of synchronizing broadcast contents between a broadcast recorder and a portable content player and an apparatus for the same are disclosed. The broadcast content synchronizing method includes obtaining metadata about broadcast contents stored in a portable content player from the portable content player; confirming a broadcast content that has already been reproduced among the broadcast contents stored in the portable content player by the obtained metadata; retrieving a broadcast content corresponding to the next installment of the confirmed broadcast content from recorded broadcast contents; and storing the retrieved broadcast content in the portable content player.

Abstract: A method of browsing contents and an apparatus for browsing the same are provided. The settings are transmitted to a server. An application for which location-information sharing is activated is executed. A request for sharing of location information with respect to the executed application is transmitted to the server. Location information of a portable terminal in which location-information sharing is activated for the executed application is received from the server. The received location information is processed through the executed application.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for perceiving and reporting a neighborhood object, the apparatus including: a message analysis unit to analyze information of an alive message received from the neighborhood object and to determine if the analyzed information lies within a predetermined range; a neighborhood object information control unit to update status information of the neighborhood object by adjusting a transmission cycle, according to which the neighborhood object transmits the alive message, based on a result of the determination by the message analysis unit; and a reporting unit to report the updated status information of the neighborhood object according to a reporting condition.

The input unit receives a signal for moving an image playback location along a time axis by an interval from a current playback point of images being played back. The frame searching unit sets a skip section ranging from a skip start point to a skip end point, in response to the received signal. The thumbnail selection unit selects a plurality of thumbnail images existing in the skip section. The video processing unit displays the selected thumbnail images.

Accordingly, it is possible to enable a user to effectively browse broadcast programs and to provide the user with a user interface customized for the user by using a simple one-dimensional input method and intuitively utilizing EPG information.
