By locating a finger compensator (20-25) in a finger, said finger can handle complex situations, like Doppler shifts under high-speed conditions. Preferably, most or all fingers each comprise such a finger compensator, in which case said feedback loop can be avoided. Such a finger compensator can be hardware, software or a mixture of both when comprising a filter (21) plus an amplitude normalizer (22) between two arithmetical modules (20,25) for multiplying an input symbol signal with a conjugated previous input symbol signal and an output symbol signal with a previous output symbol signal.

A corresponding radio frequency system has a local coil and a body coil, with power coupling between the local coil and the body coil; during the phase for transmitting the radio frequency signals. The body coil serves to couple the radio frequency signals to be transmitted to the local coil, and the local coil serves to transmit the coupled radio frequency signals to a region to be examined. This method and system allow the transmitting function of the local coil to be achieved without having a coil plug on a patient bed to provide a radio frequency signal transmitting channel.

A subchannel matrix is estimated in a second station for each frame. The subchannel matrices are combined to obtain a complete channel matrix. A particular subset of the antennas is selected according to the complete channel matrix. The set of transmit RF chains is connected to the selected particular subset of antennas to transmit data from the first station to the second station.
