  • Publication number: 20130211483
Abstract: A compact heat exchanger for veno-venous perfusion-induced hyperthermia includes an integral pneumatic pump and a hollow tubule heat exchange array. A veno-venous perfusion-induced hyperthermia system incorporating the compact heat exchanger is described. The heat exchanger provides a compact, efficient design allowing a lesser heat exchanging surface area and lesser required pumping power compared to conventional systems. In turn, the system provides a shorter blood circuit compared to conventional systems, allowing maintaining a lower blood temperature than such conventional systems while supplying sufficiently heated blood to patient visceral organs to provide a therapeutic effect, such as in supplementing chemotherapy drugs.

  • Publication number: 20130094997
Abstract: A blood oxygenator includes an integral pneumatic pump disposed substantially within a housing thereof, an inlet blood flow redirector, and an outflow blood collector. An atrium provided at an inlet of the oxygenator promotes even delivery of blood to the oxygenator. In use, the oxygenator provides an even dispersion of blood therethrough, establishing even perfusion and reducing areas of stagnant blood flow.

  • Publication number: 20120306398
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a driving apparatus, an OLED (Organic Light-Emitting Diode) panel, and a method for driving the OLED panel. The driving apparatus can be integrated on a substrate of pixel circuits and is capable of providing fast and stable current driving. The driving apparatus includes a switching module for selecting a voltage signal according to a received clock signal; a conversion module for converting the voltage signal into a current signal; and an output module for outputting the voltage signal or the converted current signal to drive a pixel circuit array, wherein the switching module is connected to the conversion module and the output module, and the conversion module is connected to the switching module and the output module.

  • Publication number: 20120289007
Abstract: Embodiments of the disclosed technology relate to a method for manufacturing a thin film transistor (TFT) with a polysilicon active layer comprising: depositing an amorphous silicon layer on a substrate, and patterning the amorphous silicon layer so as to form an active layer comprising a source region, a drain region and a channel region; depositing an inducing metal layer on the source region and the drain region; performing a first thermal treatment on the active layer provided with the inducing metal layer so that the active layer is crystallized under the effect of the inducing metal; doping the source region and the drain region with a first impurity for collecting the inducing metal; and performing a second thermal treatment on the doped active layer so that the first impurity absorbs the inducing metal remained in the channel region.

  • Publication number: 20110040241
Abstract: A system for providing access to at least one heart chamber for delivering and/or removing a fluid includes a selectively occludable conduit defining a lumen for providing access to an interior of at least one heart chamber from an exterior of a chest wall of the patient, and a dual lumen cannula adapted for passing through an interior lumen of the conduit. The selectively occludable conduit includes at least one balloon closure for substantially sealing an end of the conduit in fluid communication with the chamber of the heart. The dual lumen cannula includes a first, drainage lumen having at least one aperture for removing a fluid from the interior of the heart chamber, and a second, delivery lumen for delivering a fluid into the interior of the heart chamber. The delivery lumen may include an extendable infusion sleeve for delivering a fluid into an interior of the heart.

  • Patent number: 7524277
Abstract: An apparatus, system, and method for assisting a heart in circulating blood that has been damaged, for example, by a myocardial infarction. In at least one aspect, an apparatus, system, and method are used for inserting a single cannula assembly comprising at least an inner and outer cannula into the left ventricle, advancing the inner cannula portion of the cannula assembly past the aortic valve, and into the aorta without requiring a secondary cannula insertion through an external portion of the aorta. In another aspect, an intraventricular assistant device (IVAD) having a motor and impeller can be inserted directly into the heart, such as in the left ventricle. The IVAD uniquely provides a pump within the heart through a single insertion that can reduce thrombosis and lessen the complexities typically associated with such efforts.

  • Patent number: 7473239
Abstract: The present invention provides an apparatus, system, and method of use of a simple, less invasive, self-expandable percutaneous double lumen cannula assembly for VV ECMO that overcomes the limitations and obstacles of the techniques described above. The present invention achieves near theoretical total venous blood drainage, total extracorporeal gas exchange, and prevents recirculation and multiple cannulation, thereby simplifying VV ECMO, decreasing surgical and blood trauma, and expanding its application.
