  • Patent number: 8088028
Abstract: A tracking system for use with an arrow having a shaft and arrowhead includes a housing having first and second separable portions that define an interior area. A transmitter is operatively coupled to one of the portions and positioned in the interior area when coupled together. A first anchor is configured to be coupled to the shaft and the housing first end. A second anchor is configured to be coupled to the arrowhead and the housing second end. A fastener selectively couples the first and second portions together. A switch activates automatically when the fastener is moved to couple the first and second portions together and causes the transmitter to activate. The system includes a tracking unit having a receiver, display, processor, and programming to indicate a location of the transmitter based on signal received by the receiver from the transmitter. Data received from the transmitter may include an identifier.

  • Patent number: 8085688
Abstract: Methods and systems for path determining a network data path are described. In one embodiment, equal cost multiple paths (ECMPs) for a proposed TE tunnel on a network may be determined. The proposed TE tunnel may extend between a head-end tunneling capable router and a tail-end tunneling capable router. The network may further comprise inter router links extending between tunneling capable routers. For each inter router link of at least a portion of the inter router links, a usage count may be established for that inter router link. The usage count may be the number of ECMPs for the proposed TE tunnel that use that inter router link. A tunnel path may be selected from the ECMPs for the proposed TE tunnel that has the lowest usage count of the inter router links. The selected tunnel path may be added to a model of the network. Additional methods and systems are disclosed.

  • Patent number: 8083434
Abstract: A method of cold in-place recycling of asphalt to remediate distressed roads. Asphalt particles obtained by milling the existing asphalt are limited by screening to a maximum size of about one inch length. Asphalt particle size may be established by limiting tooth spacing of the road milling equipment milling head to about 5/16 inch or 8 millimeter spacing intervals. A predetermined proportion of portland cement, water, and asphalt emulsion are added to generated asphalt particles. Portland cement may be deposited onto the existing asphalt prior to milling. The resulting combination is mixed to generate a recycled mix, which may then be discharged onto the road being remediated and further processed, such as by screeding, compacting, and sealing.

  • Publication number: 20110096916
Abstract: Example methods, apparatus and articles of manufacture to detect echo during teleconferences are disclosed. A disclosed example method includes collecting first signal data for a first teleconference leg of a teleconference, collecting second signal data for a second teleconference leg of the teleconference, computing an echo detection metric from the first and second signal data, and comparing the echo detection metric to a threshold to determine whether an echo is likely present on the first teleconference leg of the teleconference.

  • Patent number: 7861919
Abstract: A system for managing token image replacement is provided. The system includes a remote server, a token acceptance device, such as a personal computer (PC), connected to the remote server, a token, such as a phone, that can be read by the PC, and a token image server. Using application logic and rules, the remote server is able to read the token image on the token and determine if the image on the phone needs to be updated. The remote server forwards a backup token image to the PC which, in turn, writes the backup token image including transaction information to the phone. Once the backup token image is written onto the phone, subsequent interactions with the system would not initiate an update.

  • Publication number: 20100017833
Abstract: A method for providing video to a customer premises equipment, the method includes: receiving, by a radio frequency interface of a cable modem, radio frequency signals; receiving by a data tuner out of multiple tuners of the cable modem, radio frequency signals that convey data; detecting, by a monitor of the cable modem, a request to receive a certain video channel that is being broadcasted; wherein the request is sent to the cable modem from a customer premises equipment; tuning a certain tuner out of multiple tuners of the cable modem, in response to a mapping between radio frequencies and video channels, to receive the certain video channel; filtering out data layer encapsulation information that encapsulates certain video channel information; and transmitting certain video channel information to the customer premises equipment.

  • Patent number: 7624917
Abstract: A system for managing token image replacement is provided. The system includes a remote server, a personal computer (PC) connected to the remote server, a smartcard that can be read by the PC, and a card image server. Using application logic and rules, the remote server is able to read the card image on the smartcard and determine if the card image on the smartcard needs to be updated. If an indicator on the smartcard is set to “update”, the remote server then retrieves a backup card image that corresponds to the card from the card image server. The remote server forwards the backup card image to the PC which, in turn, writes the backup card image including transaction information to the smartcard. Once the backup card image is written onto the smartcard, the indicator in the smartcard is then reset to ensure that subsequent interactions with the system would not initiate an update.

  • Publication number: 20080288633
Abstract: Systems and methods for tracking devices that are connected to physical communication ports of a network device server. In one example embodiment, a method includes detecting the connection of a device to a physical communication port of a device server; determining whether the device has been assigned an NCC; if the device has not been assigned an NCC, assigning an unassigned NCC to the device; and mapping the device's assigned NCC to the physical communication port.

  • Publication number: 20080234572
Abstract: A fiducial marker for use in the body of a living being to enable the localization of targeted internal tissue. The implant is in the form of an elongated, e.g., rod-like, spacer located between pair of end members, e.g., gold cylinders, and held together by an elongated sleeve, e.g., a heat-shrinkable sleeve. When so connected portions of the end members are exposed, i.e., extend beyond the ends of the sleeve. The outer surface of the exposed portions of each of the end members is textured, e.g., grooved, to provide resistance to migration when the marker is implanted. The spacer and the sleeve are each be formed of an absorbable material.

Abstract: Verifying licenses to enable functionality. A method is performed in a manufacturing environment. The method includes acts for enabling device functionality on devices to ensure that at least one of appropriate licensing, royalty or authorization requirements are met. The method includes receiving authentication information for a device. The authentication information is authenticated to ensure that the device is an authorized device. If authentication succeeds, then additional manufacturing tasks are performed.
