  • Publication number: 20160262307
Abstract: A method for conditioning at least one control signal transmitted by a controller is disclosed. The method involves intercepting the control signal and producing at least one output signal for receipt by the positioning system instead of the control signal in response to the control signal. The output signal represents a plurality of active times during which the positioning system is instructed to move the agricultural implement towards the at least one desired position and a plurality of inactive times during which the positioning system is instructed not to move, each active time being followed by a respective one of the plurality of inactive times. Each of the plurality of inactive times is sufficiently long to permit the agricultural implement to settle into a fixed position due to a positioning response time of the positioning system. Other methods, apparatuses, systems, and computer-readable media are also disclosed.

Abstract: Methods for producing a paired tag from a nucleic acid sequence are provided in which the paired tag comprises the 5? end tag and 3? end tag of the nucleic acid sequence. In one embodiment, the nucleic acid sequence comprises two restriction endonuclease recognition sites specific for a restriction endonuclease that cleaves the nucleic acid sequence distally to the restriction endonuclease recognition sites. In another embodiment, the nucleic acid sequence further comprises restriction endonuclease recognition sites specific for a rare cutting restriction endonuclease. Methods of using paired tags are also provided. In one embodiment, paired tags are used to characterize a nucleic acid sequence. In a particular embodiment, the nucleic acid sequence is a genome. In one embodiment, the characterization of a nucleic acid sequence is karyotyping. Alternatively, in another embodiment, the characterization of a nucleic acid sequence is mapping of the sequence.

  • Patent number: 9414837
Abstract: Suture clip deployment devices for applying suture clips to sutures are described. Some embodiments can include a generally tubular main body and a vacuum port located at the distal end, a hollow inner body longitudinally slidable within the main body and extending from the main body at its distal end, and a suture recess located in the generally tubular main body. At least one suture clip configured to frictionally fit on an outer surface of the inner body is deployed during use. Clip deployment can occur after a vacuum source is applied to the device so as to draw the suture into the device. The suture lines can be retrieved through the suture recess, and the device can be actuated so as to deliver the suture clip off the delivery device and onto the suture, locking the suture in place.

  • Publication number: 20160166248
Abstract: A multiple-fire securing device includes a hollow outer shaft, a reloader, a reloader movement assembly, a rail, and securing structures each defining an inner securing orifice. The reloader longitudinally moves within the outer shaft and has a distal end shaped to temporarily contact one of the securing structures. The rail is disposed within the reloader and has an installing location. The securing structures are disposed on the rail. The reloader movement assembly moves the reloader longitudinally in a distal direction to deliver a first securing structure to the installing location from a first proximal position and moves the reloader proximally away from the installing location without the first securing structure to a position in which the distal end of the reloader temporarily contacts a second one of the securing structures. The second and successive securing structures are moved one at a time to the installing location.

  • Patent number: 9201603
Abstract: Dynamic logical mapping (“DLM”) provides a virtual layer interposed between a host and a data storage library. Residing on the library, DLM creates a data storage map that records and manages the relationship between a storage cartridge's physical address and that cartridge's mapping to a logical address. During runtime of the data storage library, DLM manages the physical to logical address mapping of each storage cartridge so as to optimize efficiency and speed of the data storage library.

  • Patent number: 9059925
Abstract: A method for multicast load balancing in a wireless network having a plurality of access points. The method includes setting a maximum Internet protocol multicast bandwidth for the access points, receiving an admissions control request from a client at one of the access points, and determining whether the admissions control request from the client is for an admitted or unadmitted multicast stream at the access point. The access point is responsive to the admissions control request for the admitted multicast stream by servicing the admitted multicast stream and to the admissions control request for the unadmitted multicast stream by servicing the unadmitted multicast stream where the bandwidth required for the unadmitted multicast stream, plus that portion of the access point bandwidth currently used for all existing downlink multicast streams, does not exceed the maximum internet protocol multicast bandwidth for the access point.
