  • Patent number: 7400112
Abstract: An autoilluminating rechargeable lamp system includes a set of one or more self-standing rechargeable lighting fixtures (luminaries) removably supported on a recharging and support member. The luminaries each include a light diffusor that may resemble a candle to the from that turn on when removed from the recharging and support member. The luminaries may also turn on when power to the recharging and support member is turned off, turning the luminaries on automatically as during a power failure. The luminaries may each be inductively coupled to the recharging and support member, which enables to provide an aesthetically pleasing interface free of electrical contacts. Relative rotation of luminary cover and foot members may be used to controllably alter the characteristics of the illumination, such as dimming/brightening.

  • Publication number: 20080000997
Abstract: Safe-T-Shower is a device that allows consumers to set a water temperature for several different individuals. The preferred embodiment of the invention utilizes a control panel (program board), thermostat, and control valve. To use the preferred embodiment of Safe-T-Shower, an individual would set his temperature preference and access code in the control panel. When that user desires to take a shower, he would access his temperature preference from the control panel by entering his pre-set access code. In the preferred embodiment, each user would have an access code that could be typed into the control panel to begin the flow of water through the faucet by opening the hot and cold water lines. The thermostat behind the faucet would then measure the temperature of the water flowing through it and signal the control panel when the user's preferred temperature is reached.

  • Patent number: 7097705
Abstract: This invention provides water-based compositions, particularly coating, ink, adhesive, fountain solution and agricultural compositions, manifesting reduced equilibrium and dynamic surface tension by the incorporation of a surface tension reducing amount of a mixture of a non-fluorinated anionic compound and a non-fluorinated weak base cationic compound, the mixture demonstrating a dynamic surface tension (DST) which is less than the DST of the individual anionic and cationic compounds and less than 45 dynes/cm, at a concentration of ?5 wt % in water at 23° C. and 20 bubbles/second or less than 40 dynes/cm at a concentration of ?0.03M in water at 23° C. and 0.1 bubbles/second according to the maximum-bubble pressure method.

  • Publication number: 20050229405
Abstract: The utensil comprises a generally disc-shaped body having a plurality of laterally spaced apart cutting blades that project downwardly from the underside of the body. Lowermost, generally horizontally extending cutting edges on the blades are pushed into and through the food in a severing action when the body is placed in the palm of the user's hand and pressed downwardly into the food. Preferably, the top wall of the body is gently dome-shaped to be complementally received by the palm of the hand. Repeated pressing of the blades down into the food product at different rotative positions yields a crisscross cutting pattern that severs the food product into numerous small pieces, the final size of which depends upon the number of crisscross cutting strokes employed by the user. A preferred embodiment includes a central button in the top of the utensil that may be depressed to advance a stripping plate along the knife blades for dislodging any food pieces that may have been trapped between the blades.

Abstract: A clamp assembly for bringing an RF sensor into electrical contact with an RF current carrier is provided herein. The clamp assembly (101) comprises a first wedge-shaped element (103), and a second wedge-shaped element (105) which is slidingly engaged with said first wedge-shaped element. Preferably, the clamp assembly also comprises a collar (113) within which the first and second wedge-shaped elements are disposed. The clamp assembly preferably further comprises a fastener (111), such as a screw, which adjoins the first and second elements, in which case the clamp assembly is adapted such that, as the screw is rotated in a first direction, at least one of the first and second elements expands against the collar and/or the RF current carrier.

  • Publication number: 20050174882
Abstract: The vessel has an open top receptacle that is provided with a drink-through cap unit removably secured to the upper end of the receptacle. The cap unit includes a cap and a battery-powered mixer incorporated into the cap. An elongated mixing element of the mixer projects downwardly from the cap into the receptacle for agitating and mixing the contents when a switch on the cap is actuated by the user. Without removing the cap unit from the receptacle after mixing, the user may drink the contents directly from a lip on the drink-through cap. A stopper for the drinking orifice in the cap may be mounted on a rockable operating lever that is easily manipulated by the user between open and closed positions.

  • Patent number: 6834824
Abstract: A drum type continuous winder for winding slit sections of a web onto individual cores on a core shaft (20) includes a pair of primary support arms (24, 25) having radial slots (28) that receives the core shaft from a fixed cam plate (29) permitting the core shaft to move with the cores into engagement with a moving web on a main winding drum (22) for web cutting and transfer to fresh cores. A driven nip roll (30) supported on arms (24, 25) engages the cores on the core shaft during web transfer so that the core shaft is sandwiched between the nip roll (30) and the primary drum (22) providing web transfer onto the cores free of critical speed limitations. Secondary arms (50, 51) which receive the core shaft support a secondary winding drum (52) in guide tracks (55) for radial movement into engagement with the rolls being wound.
