  • Patent number: 8885634
Abstract: The present invention utilizes specific referential tables for forwarding decisions while maintaining current mechanisms of Ethernet addressing and QoS marking. The referential tables are utilized for forwarding decisions based on any and/or multiple fields within the packets simultaneously, such as, for example, incoming port number, incoming MAC, incoming VLAN, outgoing MAC, outgoing VLAN, P-bits, DSCP, MPLS label, TCP/UDP port numbers, IP, SIP, HTTP, and the like. A user can define the forwarding criteria based on any combination/permutation fields in the packet. Advantageously, the present invention removes the need to introduce explicit tunnel labels in the Ethernet frame in order to maintain the desired QoS within the network removing explicit labeling requirements.

  • Patent number: 8882493
Abstract: A method and system for fueling of a burner in a direct-fired device using syngas. A gasifier produces syngas from a carbonaceous feedstock such as biomass. The syngas is fed to a syngas burner. A booster burner disposed between the gasifier and the syngas burner increases the temperature of the syngas. The booster burner may be provided with an approximately stoichiometric or sub-stoichiometric amount of oxidant. Operation of the booster burner may be regulated based on the temperature of the syngas. The syngas burner may be used to direct-fire a device requiring a relatively high flame temperature, such as, for example, a lime kiln.

  • Patent number: 8882626
Abstract: A multi-regime continuously variable ratio transmission has a transmission input shaft, a transmission output shaft, and a ratio varying unit having a rotating input and a rotating output, the rotational axes of the input and the output being coaxial. A shunt having first and second epicyclic gear sets is connected across the ratio varying unit. One gear set has an input driven by the input shaft and an input driven by one side of the ratio varying unit and the other gear set has an input from the first gear set and an input from one side of the ratio varying unit. The gear sets rotate about a common axis and are offset with respect to, and parallel to, the rotational axes of the input and output of the ratio varying unit. A clutch is operable to selectively connect the output of the second gear set to the output shaft.

  • Publication number: 20140326126
Abstract: A novel impact and blast resistant window is presented. A surface of a glazing pane has a durable transparent polymer film coated or adhered thereto. The surface of the window pane having the film is sealed to the sash by double sided tape. The resulting window produces an unexpected ability for the durable transparent polymer film to retain pieces of broken glass driven toward the interior of the building by a missile striking an exterior of the window, without the durable transparent polymer film pulling loose from the window sash.

  • Publication number: 20140331098
Abstract: A system and method for image enhancement associated with scan generators is provided. For example, a source stimulates a device under test (DUT) at electrical interconnects. An internal clock of the DUT is synchronized with the scan rate of the source to reduce the noise of the output signal and enhance a resultant image. A phase adjustment is effected to further reduce the noise in the signal. The synchronization and the phase adjustment seek to ensure that the data is collected at uniform times relative to the reference signal and thereby reduce the noise introduced into the system, by such offsets. Post-scan processing increases the signal-to-noise ratio through averaging techniques. Using a pixel overlay algorithm the averaged data is transformed into a 2-D array and the image of the DUT reconstructed.

  • Patent number: 8879697
Abstract: Disclosed herein are systems, methods, and non-transitory computer-readable storage media for determining call importance using social network context. A system can receive a call from a caller and establish the identity of the caller. The system can then retrieve a social network context associated with the caller identity from a social network and determine an importance score for the call using the social network context. Social network contexts can be derived from a social network profile, caller utterances, and a social graph. Based on the importance score, the contact center provides an appropriate level of customer service. The level of customer service a contact center provides can be based on resource availability, call type, call time, agent queue selection, offered communication modalities and customer follow-up.
