  • Publication number: 20210238935
Abstract: A method for mitigating the effects of cable wear in an active heave compensated hoisting system of an offshore vessel in a locked to bottom mode of operation is disclosed. The method comprises supporting an upper end of a string which is connected to a subsea well from a travelling block of the hoisting system, wherein the travelling block is suspended from a crown block via a cable. The method further comprises operating an active heave compensation system to control a drawworks of the hoisting system to pay in and out the cable to compensate for motion of the offshore vessel and maintain a target overpull in the string. The method further comprises adjusting a ballast system of the offshore vessel to vary the draft of the vessel, and controlling the drawworks in accordance with the variation in the draft of the vessel to cause a length of cable to slip through the hoisting system and maintain the target overpull in the string.

  • Patent number: 10961301
Abstract: Antibodies that penetrate cell nuclei and inhibit DNA repair or interfere with DNA metabolism are provided for treatment of cancer (both directly and by sensitizing cancer cells to DNA-damaging treatments) or inhibiting or preventing viral infection, proliferation or metabolism. The method involves treating cells with a composition containing cell-penetrating anti-DNA antibodies or derivatives thereof, alone or in combination with treatment that induces DNA damage such as DNA-damaging chemotherapy or radiation. The impact of the cell-penetrating anti-DNA antibodies or derivatives thereof is potentiated in cancer cells that are deficient in DNA repair, and the cell-penetrating anti-DNA antibodies or derivatives thereof are synthetically lethal to cancer cells with DNA repair deficiencies.

  • Patent number: 10928782
Abstract: System and techniques for a virtual detent bezel device are described herein, a configuration that specifies a detent pattern and an output pattern corresponding to the detent pattern may be received receiving by the virtual detent bezel device. A physical portion of the virtual detent bezel device may sense a rotational action of a user interacting with a physical portion of the virtual detent bezel device. The rotational action may be compared to a present rotational position to determine a rotational change. The rotational change may be thresholded against the detent pattern to determine that a detent is crossed. A haptic feedback device may be activated in response to determining that the detent is crossed. A portion of the output pattern that corresponds to the detent that is crossed may be output by the virtual detent bezel device.
