  • Publication number: 20230127288
Abstract: An ophthalmic surgical laser system includes: a laser that produces a pulsed laser beam having a pulse energy and pulse repetition rate; a high frequency fast scanner; an XY-scan device; a Z-scan device; and a controller. The controller controls the high frequency scanner to produce a scan line having a scan width; controls the XY-scan device and the Z-scan device to carry out of first sweep of the scan line in a first sweep direction and to carry out a second sweep of the scan line in a second sweep direction that is not parallel to the first sweep direction thereby defining an overlap region. At least one of the pulse energy, repetition rate, XY-scan speed, and the scan width is varied so as to accelerate the cutting speed and reduce the exposure of ophthalmic tissue in the overlap region to multiple exposures of laser pulses configured to modify ophthalmic tissue.

  • Patent number: 11618355
Abstract: A vehicle seat mounting system includes a seat mount plate and a vehicle mount plate. A vertically operable scissor linkage assembly is disposed between the seat mount plate and the vehicle mount plate and is oriented such that respective opposing ends of a first scissor arm and a second scissor arm are each secured to a respective one of the seat mount plate and the vehicle mount plate. A spring assembly is disposed between the seat mount plate and the vehicle mount plate and is oriented to cooperate with the scissor linkage assembly to resist translation between the vehicle mount plate and the seat mount plate. An adjuster assembly cooperates with the spring assembly and is operable to manipulate the proportion of the spring assembly that is available to be engaged to resist motion of the mounting system.

  • Publication number: 20220090220
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention comprise; annealing steel sheets (e.g., hot rolled steel sheets or thin cast strip steel); cold rolling the sheets in one or more cold rolling steps (e.g., with annealing steps between multiple cold rolling steps); and performing one or more of tension leveling, a rough rolling, or a coating process on the sheets after cold rolling, without an intermediate annealing step between the final cold rolling step and the tension leveling, the rough rolling, or the coating process, or the customer stamping or final customer annealing. In order to achieve the desired properties for the steel sheet, stamping and final annealing is performed by the customer. The new process provides an electrical steel with the similar, same, or better magnetic properties than an electrical steel manufactured using the traditional processing that utilizes an intermediate annealing step after cold rolling and before the stamping and final annealing.

  • Publication number: 20210282272
Abstract: A ball grid array device includes a monitoring circuit of inactive solder joints and a processor such as a field programmable gate array (FPGA) or other processor capable of determining the open or closed status of the monitoring circuit. The monitoring circuit traverses one or more of the solder joints between components being joined, such as a printed circuit board and an integrated circuit device. In certain embodiments, the inactive solder joints may be located within regions of the ball grid array that are predisposed to failure, such as at the periphery or corners of the printed circuit board, or proximate to regions that experience a broad range of operating temperatures. The failure of a solder joint within the monitoring circuit can be used to schedule maintenance of the ball grid array device prior to failure of an active solder joint.

  • Publication number: 20210221409
Abstract: A cryogenic tank car tank includes an outer tank, an inner tank positioned within the outer tank, an inner nozzle, and inner manway plate, an outer nozzle, and an outer manway plate. The inner nozzle defines an opening in the inner tank. The inner manway plate is welded to the inner nozzle and covers the opening in the inner tank. The outer nozzle defines an opening in the outer tank and is positioned above the inner nozzle, such that the inner manway plate is accessible through the outer nozzle. The outer manway plate couples to an upper edge of the outer nozzle to cover the opening in the outer tank. In response to applying the vacuum to the annular space between the inner and outer tanks, a differential pressure between the annular space and a space external to the outer tank secures the outer manway plate to the outer nozzle.

  • Publication number: 20210221410
Abstract: A tank for a railway tank car includes an outer tank, a nozzle, a fittings plate, and a set of pipes. The nozzle protrudes through the outer tank such that an outer edge of the nozzle extends past an exterior surface of the outer tank. An intersection between the nozzle and the outer tank defines an opening in the outer tank. The fittings plate is welded to the nozzle around the outer edge of the nozzle. The set of pipes pass through the fittings plate and into the outer tank through the nozzle. The set of pipes includes pipes to load and/or unload fluid from the tank.
