  • Publication number: 20240131258
Abstract: An apparatus includes a cannula assembly, a housing, a fluid reservoir, a flow control mechanism, and an actuator. The housing includes an inlet port removably coupled to the cannula assembly and defines an inner volume. The fluid reservoir is fluidically coupled to the housing and configured to receive and isolate a volume of bodily fluid from a patient. The flow control mechanism is at least partially disposed in the inner volume. The actuator is operably coupled to the flow control mechanism and is configured to move the flow control mechanism between a first configuration, in which bodily fluid can flow, via a fluid flow path defined by the flow control mechanism, from the cannula assembly, through the inlet port and into the fluid reservoir, to a second configuration, in which the fluid reservoir is fluidically isolated from the cannula assembly.

  • Patent number: 10542488
Abstract: A mechanism to control power consumption by a base station, such as a base station that implements an antenna array, such as a massive-MIMO antenna array. A computing system detects operation by the base station in a low-usage state and operation by a collated base station in a low-usage state. In response, the computing system then causes reconfiguration of a proper subset of antenna structures of the antenna array from an enabled state to a disabled state, while keeping a remainder of the antenna structures of the antenna array in the enabled state.

  • Patent number: 9589414
Abstract: Disclosed is a gaming machine touch screen system incorporating a flat transparent or nearly transparent layer that contains a series of active elements/actuators/chambers that enable a vertical displacement of the touch screen top surface. These active elements displace the top surface of the touch screen upon command of the gaming machine to provide features perceptible to the player's touch.

  • Publication number: 20160254125
Abstract: A method for providing a protective layer over a substrate is provided. A ceramic layer is deposited over the substrate, wherein the ceramic layer has a porosity. A localized heating of a region of the ceramic layer to a temperature that causes the ceramic layer to melt without damaging the substrate is provided, wherein the melting the ceramic layer reduces the porosity or seals fissures or columnar grain boundaries. The region of the ceramic layer heated by the localized heating is scanned over the ceramic layer.

  • Patent number: 9415307
Abstract: Various embodiments disclosed herein are directed to a gesture enhanced game play system that includes a display system, a sensor system, a feedback system, and one or more computing systems. The sensor system is configured to detect at least one touch gesture when the touch gesture is at least proximate the virtual game layout. During play of the game, a player's touch gestures are evaluated as either a functional gameplay touch gesture or non-functional gameplay touch gestures. Each functional gameplay touch gesture relates directly to reaching an outcome of a current game. Each non-functional gameplay touch gesture may be associated with a feedback system that responds to the non-functional gameplay touch gestures by the player with visual, audio, tactile feedback or the altering of certain game parameters and displays, giving at least the impression that the non-functional gestures affect game outcomes.
