  • Patent number: 4175348
Abstract: A fishing lure comprising a hollow body in which is encapsulated a solid state electric circuit, including light emitting diodes (LED's). Two LED's are seen through translucent eyes and a plurality of LED's are arrayed along each side of the body. An LED flasher/oscillator and a capacitor causes the LED's to flash on and off intermittently. A magnetic reed switch contained within the body is disposed alongside a non-magnetic tube containing a permanent magnet therein. By jarring the body, the magnet is moved from one end of the tube to the other, and at one end it causes the magnetic reed switch to close and energize the circuit and activate the lure.

  • Patent number: 4119638
Abstract: This invention relates to a new class of compounds of the indole series. Particularly, it relates to novel thio esters of 1-(p-chlorobenzoyl)-5-methoxy-2-methylindole-3-acetic acid. These novel compounds are prepared by reacting 1-(p-chlorobenzoyl)-5-methoxy-2-methylindole-3-acetic acid with an appropriate thiol and diethyl phosphorocyanidate or diphenyl phosphorazidate in the presence of triethylamine in a dimethylformamide solution. These compounds are useful anti-inflammatory agents.

  • Patent number: 4094328
Abstract: In abstract, a preferred embodiment of this invention is an instrument for holding dental floss during the manipulation of the floss between the teeth of the user. This instrument is preferably in the form of a three pronged fork having a handle with a dental floss storage spool contained therein. A slide release for the spool feed and a cutter bar, along with floss guides are included. An alternate to the three pronged fork would be a stationary central fork with a releasably lockable, movable side fork which can be disposed alternately on either side of the center of the fork.

  • Patent number: 4020396
Abstract: This disclosure relates to a protective relaying system for a polyphase power transmission line in which at least two separate line operating conditions at a remote end of a protected line section are transmitted to a local end of the line section over a single communication channel. In the preferred illustrated embodiment, the operating conditions of three-line conductors are sequentially transmitted whenever a fault condition is sensed on any one or more of the three-line conductors. During the normal, non-faulted operation, a coded signal is continually transmitted to maintain the time derived signals at the receiver in substantial synchronism with the time derived signals of the transmitter. The coded signal also establishes a trip inhibiting or guard signal at the receiver.
