  • Patent number: 5037067
Abstract: The two-way and three-way plug valves disclosed include plug members having O-rings in place in continuous grooves defined by inner and outer side walls and a bottom wall extending therebetween. Recesses are formed at spaced apart points along the O-ring groove inner wall to provide an area into which segments of the O-ring may be displaced during existence of a pressure differential across the O-ring. The O-ring groove inner wall recesses are in fluid communication with one another by means of passages, bores and channels defined by the plug member. Edges along the recesses frictionally engage O-ring segments to restrain same against displacement from the O-ring groove.

  • Patent number: 4986220
Abstract: A game feeder includes a feed container having a funnel shaped outlet immediately above a distributor mounted for rotation on the end of a motor shaft. When the motor runs, the plate spins and broadcasts feed around the feeder. The distributor includes an inlet having a member extending across the path of movement of feed from the container outlet toward the distributor. When the distributor turns, any trash extending down from the container outlet is cut or abraded by the spinning member. The distributor includes one or more outlets having a swinging gate providing a closure for the outlet in a stopped or resting condition of the motor and preventing movement of feed unless the motor is running. When the motor turns and the distributor spins, the gate opens by centrifugal force allowing feed to pass through the distributor outlet.

  • Patent number: 4899383
Abstract: The multiplexer in a multichannel, secure digital communication system repetitively embeds a sequence of byte length uniquely coded synchronizing signals in each of n successive frames of one channel of a multichannel, time multiplexed digital bit stream. Redundant protective relay data and associated parity check data are embedded in four of the n frames in a second, preferably adjacent channel, with the remaining of the n frames in the second channel containing additional of the uniquely coded synchronizing signals. The time multiplexed serial bit stream is transmitted to a remote station, preferably by fiber optic communications media. The most recent bits of the received serial bit stream equal in number to the number of bits spanned by the two channels in n frames are retained in n-1 serially connected serial in, serial out shift registers. Sixteen bit portions, a frame apart, of the retained most recent bits of the serial bit stream are applied to n serial in, parallel out shift registers.

  • Patent number: 4643050
Abstract: A machine for grinding the depth gauges of saw chain cutter links includes a saw chain carrier mounted for movement toward and away from a power grinding element. As the carrier moves a cutter link toward the grinding element, the cutter tooth of such link moves beneath indexing structure which includes a shield plate which then moves with the carrier toward the grinding element. Upon continued movement, the shield plate contacts an indexing roller which forces the plate down against the top of the tooth. After the plate bottoms against the tooth, the plate forces the indexing roller upwardly. The roller, being linked to the grinding element, lifts the grinding element to its grinding position for grinding the depth gauge of such link. An alternative embodiment includes a brake activated by the carrier to hold the grinding element in its grinding position after the cutter tooth passes beneath the indexing roller.

  • Patent number: 4287793
Abstract: A saw chain grinding machine has a disc-shaped grinding wheel mounted for rotation in a fixed position on the base of a grinding machine. A saw chain holder is mounted at one end of a support arm extending across and beneath the wheel, with the opposite end of the support arm being mounted on the base for swinging movement about a pivot axis parallel to the axis of rotation of the grinding wheel. Swinging movement of the support arm causes a corresponding swinging movement of the saw chain holder along the periphery of the wheel. A stop fixed to the machine base limits swinging movement of the support arm in one direction to determine a grinding position for the saw chain holder along the periphery of the wheel. The support arm is adjustable lengthwise for moving the holder and thus a saw chain cutter element toward and away from the wheel in a line extending generally toward the axis of rotation of the wheel when the arm is in grinding position against its stop.
