  • Patent number: 9441838
Abstract: A pellet bin insert system for a wood smoker grill includes a container with an open top, first and second parallel opposing sidewalls, a back wall, a front wall, a bottom surface and an inclined panel affixed around its perimeter to the side walls, the front wall and the bottom surface. The container includes a feeder opening in the bottom surface. A slide bar is slideably coupled to a portion of the inclined panel adjoining the bottom surface and has a bottom end slideably coupled to cover the feeder opening in a first position and to open the feeder opening when moved to a second position. The container is adapted to be inserted into a pellet hopper with the feeder hole aligned to drop pellets into a feeder mechanism when the feeder opening is uncovered.

  • Patent number: 9434601
Abstract: Devices that assist in transferring liquid from commercially available fuel additive containers into capless fuel system intakes generally include an enlarged mouth portion and a narrower nozzle portion, with the mouth portion detachably engaging with an additive container, and the nozzle portion inserted into a capless fuel system intake, such that the capless fuel system's opening flap is held in the opened position. The mouth of the device includes a plurality of hinge points that permit circumferential enlargement of the aperture, thereby allowing the device to form a substantially leak-proof frictional engagement with the neck of fuel additive containers having different diameters. In this manner devices can be used with almost all additive containers, regardless of the type, size and/or manufacturer. The device may include at least one flexible region on the nozzle.

  • Publication number: 20160239535
Abstract: A social networking system receives contact information from a social networking system user. The received contact information is stored and associated with a user profile in the social networking system including information matching at least a portion of the stored content information. This increases the information associated with the user profile. Subsequently received content information is compared to user profiles and stored contact information associated with one or more user profiles. User profiles including information matching at least a portion of the subsequently received content information or associated with stored contact information matching at least a portion of the subsequently received content information are identified as potential connections for the user providing the subsequently received contact information.

  • Patent number: 9121389
Abstract: A renewable energy system is disclosed for generating electricity that is self-sustaining. In accordance with an important aspect of the present invention, the system takes advantage of the stack effect to create a natural updraft in at least one vertical air column based on the temperature differences of the air in the vertical air column and the temperature of the ambient air adjacent the exhaust port of the vertical column. A wind generator is located in fluid communication with the vertical air column. Once the updraft is created, the blades of the wind generator rotate which causes electricity to be generated.

  • Publication number: 20150013822
Abstract: A fuel additive bottle has a neck and thread pattern that allows insertion into a capless fuel system so the bottle's contents can be poured by gravity into a fuel tank. The neck of the bottle is elongated and has a diameter of approximately 0.854?, and the novel thread pattern includes thread interruptions that form at least one threadless path. In use, the spring loaded tabs of a capless fuel system are depressed by the threadless path portion of bottle, thereby triggering the self-sealing mechanism to open, so the fluid receiving aperture is exposed. The use of the threadless paths facilitates the safe and easy entry and removal of the bottle from the capless fuel system.

  • Publication number: 20140096483
Abstract: A transfer chamber is disclosed having a first plate with a first surface configured to receive a sample and a second surface containing a groove. The second surface of the first plate surrounds the first surface of the first plate. A second plate has a first surface and a second surface containing a groove. A sealing component is disposed in the groove of the first plate or the second plate. A pivotable link couples the first plate and the second plate. The pivotable link is configured to hold the first plate, the second plate, and the sealing component together to substantially create an air-tight seal between the first surface of the first plate and the second surface of the second plate. The pivotable link is configured to open the seal in response to a pressure differential across the transfer chamber.

  • Publication number: 20130330728
Abstract: The present disclosure defines a method for identifying and characterizing radiation exposure after, for example, a nuclear event such as detonation of a nuclear weapon or a nuclear meltdown of a nuclear power plant, using changes in microbiomes. The present disclosure demonstrates that microbiomes are reproducibly and detectably altered by exposure to radiation. As described herein, microbial signatures can be used to characterize components of microbiomes that are altered by exposure to radiation.

  • Patent number: 8602019
Abstract: A retractable oven rack includes a slidable wire base with four wire sections extending generally horizontally around a periphery. Two of the wire sections extend parallel to each other along the width of the wire base and the other two extend parallel along the length. The four wires sections are connected to each other at their ends. A pair of support rods extend from and respectively parallel two of the wire sections along the length of the slidable wire base. The oven rack also includes a grid shelf having a pair of raised wire sections extending the length of the grid shelf that are slidably supported on the pair of support rods for allowing the grid shelf to be supported and slide on the pair of support rods.

  • Publication number: 20130052172
Abstract: The present disclosure defines a method for identifying and/or treating risk and/or occurrence of cardiac defect. As is shown herein, microbiomes are reproducibly and detectably associated with cardiac defect risk factors and changes to the microbiome can directly alter cardiac defect risk. The present disclosure demonstrates that microbial signatures can be used to characterize components of microbiomes that associate with altered risk or occurrence of cardiac defects and to identify treatments to reduce risk or severity of cardiac defects.

  • Patent number: 8314585
Abstract: A servo system is provided for controlling movement of a flexible structure having multiple masses and elements. Each element couples a respective two of the masses and functions as a spring when the flexible structure is subject to a linear or rotational input at or above a frequency at which the respective element exhibits flexure. The servo system includes multiple sensors, where each sensor is disposed relative to a respective one of the masses to sense a respective acceleration. A motor having a torque input may operatively be configured to output one of a linear or rotational force on the first mass based on a torque signal present on the torque input. A servo controller that receives each sensed acceleration from each sensor may generate a compensation feedback signal based on a sum of sensed accelerations. The torque signal may be output to the motor based on the compensation feedback signal.
