  • Publication number: 20040210199
Abstract: A medication injector apparatus such as an injection pen. The injection pen includes a resettable, cartridge plunger drive assembly including an axially floating nut, a cartridge plunger engaging screw, and a drive clutch movable with the nut and which when rotated causes the screw to screw through the nut. When a cartridge assembly is mounted to the pen base, the floating nut and drive clutch are shifted proximally such that the drive clutch is in torque transmitting engagement with a rotatable drive member of the pen, such that rotation of that drive member results in drive screw advancement through the nut in the distal direction. When the cartridge assembly is not mounted to the pen base, the floating nut and drive clutch are biased distally to disengage the drive clutch from torque transmitting engagement with the rotatable drive member and to thereby allow the drive screw to be reset proximally through the nut to a position more retracted within the pen base.

  • Publication number: 20020194049
Abstract: Methods and systems for assisting individuals (101) arrange meetings such as networking meeting with other individuals (101) at a specified time (or within a specified time range) and/or at a specified place (or within a specified geographic region). More specifically, methods and systems for allowing individuals (110) to post an invitation to for a meeting on an on-line network and for allowing one or more other individuals (101) to accept such invitation.

  • Patent number: 6449291
Abstract: A method and apparatus for time synchronization in a communications system such as a system including cable modems is provided. The synchronization method comprises the steps of receiving a first timestamp from a headend unit with the cable modem, and generating a first cable modem time reference with the cable modem in response to the receipt of the first timestamp. The cable modem then receives a second timestamp from the headend unit and generates a second cable modem time reference in response to the receipt of the second timestamp. A headend difference time comprising the difference of the first and second timestamps is then generated as is a cable modem difference time comprising the difference of the first and second cable modem time references. A clock error time that comprises the difference of the headend difference time and the cable modem difference time is then generated as well as a correction factor in response to the clock error time.

  • Patent number: 4064772
Abstract: The disclosure relates to a pneumatic tubing wrench wherein a radially slotted socket member is rotatably mounted in a housing end portion having a similar slot. When the slots of the socket and the housing are aligned, the socket may be placed over a length of tubing and engaged on a fastener. For realignment of the slots following tightening of a fastener and axial disengagement of the socket from the fastener, a spool type valve is provided near the throttle valve. When the throttle lever is depressed only slightly, the throttle valve is opened to admit a very small flow of air through the secondary exhaust flow path of the tool's air motor, thereby driving the motor in reverse. A spring-biased pin and inclined slot arrangement on a portion of the tool's gearing permits the motor to be driven backward only to the position wherein the socket and housing slots are aligned.

  • Patent number: 4037206
Abstract: An ionization smoke detector particularly suited to residential use is battery-operated and is connected with a non-latching, pulsating alarm circuit. The detector has a sensing chamber formed by a perforated metallic shell and an electrode within which an insulated radiation source is centrally positioned to generate an ionization current for detecting smoke or other similar aerosols. The alarm circuit provides a pulsating alarm signal when smoke levels above a predetermined value are sensed. The alarm circuit also includes a low voltage detection circuit for sounding the alarm when the end of useful battery life is approaching.
