Abstract: A lightweight handle for containers is adjustable to permit the carrying, transporting and storage of containers of different sizes. The handle comprises an upper portion which is pivotally connected to a lower portion. The pivot is closer to one of the two longitudinal members of the upper portion so that in a first orientation, the space between the upper portion and the base of the lower frame can accommodate containers of larger size. In the second orientation, the other longitudinal member of the upper portion is in the bottom position, thereby reducing the space between the upper portion and the base of the frame for carrying smaller containers.

Abstract: A beverage maker having a reservoir for holding liquid and a filter element for holding a substance, such as coffee grounds, for making the beverage. A partition separates the reservoir and filter element and has a heat responsive film. When the liquid in the reservoir is at or reaches a desired brewing temperature, the film opens to allow the flow of the heated liquid from the reservoir into and through the filter element and substance, such as coffee grounds, to produce a freshly brewed beverage, ready for dispensing.

Abstract: Apparatus for dispensing a metered amount of ground coffee. The apparatus comprises a housing and a rotatable metering assembly. The housing has a storage chamber for the coffee and an isolated passageway terminating in a spout. The storage chamber has an outlet at its bottom. The metering assembly includes plural metering chambers located below the outlet of the storage chambers and which, when the assembly is rotated, brings a number of them under the outlet, whereupon the particulate material flows therein. The housing also has a wiper disposed at the outlet to wipe extra particulate material from the filled metering chambers as the metering assembly is rotated so that they do not overflow. The rotation of the metering assembly to selected rotational positions brings a selected number, i.e.

Abstract: A coffee filter dispensing and storage device which is compact, and inexpensive to manufacture. The device comprises a housing having a hollow interior in which a stack of coffee filters are located, and a cover pivotally mounted thereon. The cover includes a simple biased plunger mechanism with a wax or putty-like adherent at one end to extract the top most of a nested stack of coffee filters stored in a device. The device may be placed on a counter or table top or mounted on a wall or beneath a shelf or counter. Restraining tabs are used to prevent the filters from falling or spilling out of the device when the cover is opened. A locking mechanism is provided to hold the cover closed.

Abstract: A drip-type coffee maker adapted for use in a microwave oven. The coffee maker includes a container which can dispense coffee directly into a receptacle therebelow and has an upper reservoir for holding water, a lower filter element for holding coffee grounds and a partition, which separates the reservoir and coffee filter element. The partition includes a portion thereof adapted to close and open communication between the reservoir and the filter element, and a non-toxic heat responsive sealing substance adapted to releasably seal the partition portion in the closed position until water in the reservoir reaches a temperature for brewing coffee.
