  • Patent number: 10112227
Abstract: In certain embodiments described herein, a heated line forming system includes a heating coil system configured to produce a heated line on a surface of a metal part. The heated line forming system also includes an air knife cooling system configured to maintain a dry area for the heated line, and to direct a coolant (e.g., cooling water, liquified gases such as liquid argon, solidified gases such as carbon dioxide snow, and so forth) around the heated line via a spray mechanism such that the coolant does not flow or splash into the heated line on the metal part. In certain embodiments, the heated line forming system includes multiple induction coils arranged along a line and spaced a short distance apart, but which, when operated simultaneously together, form a heated line on a surface of a metal part.

  • Publication number: 20180303263
Abstract: A garment hanger (10) with a body (12), a rotatable hook portion (24) and a childproof size marker (88) is disclosed. The body (12) is in a standard form for engaging and supporting one or more garments. The hook portion (24) includes a hook (26), generally of metal and a size marker retainer portion (106, 108) for releasably fixing the size marker (88) to the hook portion (24). There is also a connector portion (28) for connecting the hook portion (24) to the body (12) and this can be in the form of a pair of protrusions (76, 78) forming an axle (80) which engages two apertures (40, 42) in the hook portion. This allows the hook portion (24) and the size marker (88), to rotate from a working condition, where the hook (26) is vertical, to a storage condition where the hook (26) is horizontal.

  • Patent number: 10095897
Abstract: A system for determining a location within an area defined by a grid of radio-frequency (RF) tag circuits includes RF exciters that are configured to emit unmodulated RF energy. The grid of the RF tag circuits are configured to receive the unmodulated RF energy from one or more of the RF exciters and to emit modulated RF energy. Each RF tag circuit may store information associated with a location of the RF tag circuit within the area and the modulated RF energy emitted from each RF tag circuit may carry the information.

  • Patent number: 9963774
Abstract: A thermal barrier coated metallic article includes a platinum-group metal enriched outer layer on the article. The surface of the outer layer has a microstructure including a plurality of projections extending away from the metallic article. A thin adherent layer of oxide is formed on the outer layer of the metallic article. A ceramic coating is provided on the oxide layer on the surface on and around the projections. The ceramic coating includes a plurality of columnar ceramic grains which extend through the full thickness of the ceramic coating. The grains are arranged in clusters separated by gaps. The grains deposited around the projections are generally blocked. The projections reduce the stress in the ceramic coating near the interface with the adherent layer of oxide and also reduce the stress in the adherent layer of oxide and hence increase the working life of the thermal barrier coating system.

  • Patent number: 9952739
Abstract: A user-configurable modular audio control surface comprises master modules for controlling global surface properties and channel modules for controlling one or more individual audio channels. The modules are disposed in a two-dimensional spatial arrangement such that any module can occupy a location within the control surface not occupied by another module. The modules are connected to each other and to external platforms hosting media applications and plug-ins via a network. Control surface users can interact with external applications via remote graphical user interfaces displayed on modules within the surface, and can automate multiple external applications using an automation system built into the surface. Automation line graphs and metadata for both internal and external applications are displayed over the corresponding waveform displays that can include audio ahead of a current playback location.

  • Patent number: 9767707
Abstract: An optimization engine builds a set of test forms, called a pallet for use in a qualification test setting. The pallet is generated using a optimization engine programmed with constraints and goals for each test form in the pallet and for the pallet in general. A test information floor is set at the cut point of the test which causes test items to be focused at the area of the test where the pass/fail decision is made. The test items may be separated into families by assigning test items selected for a test form in each test generation cycle to one of several families. Because each family has unique test items compared to other families, a person re-taking a qualification test from a particular pallet may be given a test form from another family, ensuring that no item from the first administration will appear on the subsequent test.

  • Patent number: 9744615
Abstract: A stud welding process may be performed by a power supply that is adapted for other welding processes, such as MIG, TIG, and so forth. A stud welding gun may receive studs preloaded in a magazine or other support. Studs are charged into the chuck of a stud welding gun and positioned where desired over a surface. An extension, such as a wire-type electrode may extend from the stud and aid in establishing the welding arc. The stud may be shielded by a nozzle or other shield to obviate the need for ceramic ferrules. Orientation of the stud welding gun may be detected, displayed and used as a basis for initiating and completing the stud welding process once the gun and/or stud is properly positioned.

  • Publication number: 20170162042
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for tracking a target vehicle (9) approaching a motor vehicle (1) by means of a camera system (2) of the motor vehicle (1). A temporal sequence of images (10) of an environmental region of the motor vehicle (1) is provided by means of at least one camera (3) of the camera system (2). The target vehicle (9) is detected in an image (10) of the sequence by means of an image processing device (5) of the camera system (5) based on a feature of a front (11) or of a rear of the target vehicle (9) and then the target vehicle (9) is tracked over subsequent images (10) of the sequence based on the detected feature. Wherein at least a predetermined feature of a lateral flank (14) of the target vehicle (9) is detected in one of the subsequent images (10) of the sequence by the image processing device (5), and after detection of the feature of the lateral flank (14), the target vehicle (9) is tracked over further images (10) of the sequence based on the feature of the lateral flank (14).
