  • Publication number: 20130339315
Abstract: Embodiments associated with configurable, repeatable, data generation are described. One example method includes manipulating a redundancy parameter that controls data redundancy in binary large objects (BLOBs) to be included in a generated data set. The redundancy parameters may control variations in repeatable variable length sequences included in BLOBs. The example method also includes manipulating a parameter(s) that controls custom designed sequences included in BLOBs. With the redundancy and custom designed sequences described, the example method then generates BLOBs based, at least in part, on the redundancy parameters and the custom-designed sequences. BLOBs may include byte sequences repeated at different frequencies and configurable user-designed sequences. Manipulating the redundancy parameter, manipulating the custom-designed sequences, generating the BLOBs, and providing the BLOBS may be performed by separate processes acting in parallel.

  • Publication number: 20130294539
Abstract: A coherent or a noncoherent transmission mode is automatically selected for a transmission on the basis of an estimated Doppler frequency shift due to a motion of a mobile terminal. A coherent mode is selected if a pilot signal overhead is not excessive to uniquely characterize a Doppler frequency shift, as at lower carrier frequency times relative velocity products. A noncoherent mode is selected if a pilot signal overhead would be excessive to uniquely characterize a Doppler frequency shift at higher carrier frequency times relative velocity products. Both the coherent and noncoherent modes have respective advantages for their respective carrier frequency time relative velocity regimes.

  • Patent number: 8514958
Abstract: An Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplex (OFDM) communication system comprises OFDM transmitters and an OFDM receiver. The system comprises a subcarrier status data controller for transmitting subcarrier status data to the OFDM receiver. The subcarrier status data indicates the active subcarriers of the OFDM transmitters. The OFDM receiver comprises a receiver which receives a signal comprising a desired signal component from a first OFDM transmitter and interference from at least one interfering OFDM transmitter. The OFDM receiver further comprises a subcarrier status processor which receives the subcarrier status data and a channel estimator which determines channel estimates for at least an air interface communication channel from the first OFDM transmitter and an air interface communication channel from the interfering OFDM transmitter. An interference mitigation processor performs interference mitigation of the interference in response to the subcarrier status data and the channel estimates.

  • Patent number: 8458146
Abstract: A method, apparatus and computer program product to operate a device to access data remotely is described. The processing method includes connecting to a remote data source and transmitting data requests to a remote data source. The device receives responses to the data requests, the responses include data and a flag indicating a status of store, reset or ignore with respect to the respective data request. The device stores the data request in an ordered record when the respective flag is indicating a status of store or reset. Storing a data request in the ordered record may further comprise storing in the record the respective flag, when the respective flag is indicating a status of reset.

  • Patent number: 8374619
Abstract: Embodiments of the invention provide for allocating spectrum in a wireless communication system that supports simultaneously at least a first mode of operation and a second mode of operation. Logic is arranged for determining a proportion of spectrum required for the wireless communication unit to operate simultaneously in both the first mode of operation and the second mode of operation. Logic for allocating spectrum allocates a temporary guard band between a first portion of spectrum for the first mode of operation and a second portion of spectrum for the second mode of operation for use while the wireless communication unit operates simultaneously in the first mode of operation and second mode of operation.

  • Publication number: 20130015163
Abstract: A stud welding process may be performed by a power supply that is adapted for other welding processes, such as MIG, TIG, and so forth. A stud welding gun may receive studs preloaded in a magazine or other support. Studs are charged into the chuck of a stud welding gun and positioned where desired over a surface. An extension, such as a wire-type electrode may extend from the stud and aid in establishing the welding arc. The stud may be shielded by a nozzle or other shield to obviate the need for ceramic ferrules. Orientation of the stud welding gun may be detected, displayed and used as a basis for initiating and completing the stud welding process once the gun and/or stud is properly positioned.

  • Patent number: 8346967
Abstract: A method and system for managing redirection for use with a system. The system includes a first webpage and a second webpage. The first webpage is operable to redirect a browser to the second webpage and subsequently, the second webpage is operable to redirect the browser to the first webpage by using a first pre-determined identifier associated with the first webpage. A second identifier associated with a component of the first webpage is assigned. In response to the second webpage redirecting the browser to the first webpage by using the first pre-determined identifier, the first pre-determined identifier is compared against the second identifier to determine whether the second identifier is different from the first pre-determined identifier. In response to a determination that the second identifier is different from the first pre-determined identifier, the browser is redirected to the component of the first webpage by using the second identifier.
