  • Publication number: 20150291097
Abstract: A method for detecting an object in an environmental region of a motor vehicle by a camera system of the motor vehicle is disclosed. A first image of the environmental region is provided by a camera of the camera system with illumination of the environmental region using a light source of the motor vehicle such that a shadow of the object caused by the illumination is depicted in the first image. A second image of the environmental region is also provided by the camera in an inactive state of the light source, in which the illumination is omitted. Then, a subtraction image is generated by subtracting one of the images from the other image by an image processing device of the camera system. Then, an edge image is generated from the subtraction image, and the object is detected based on edges of the edge image by the image processing device.

  • Patent number: 9030300
Abstract: A method is disclosed for controlling operational parameters of a wireless reader device and/or one or more other devices based on proximity of the wireless reader device to a wireless electronic circuit. At a first location, the wireless reader device and/or the one or more other devices are controlled based on a first operational parameter. At a second location, interrogation signals are transmitted from the wireless reader device, and response signals are received at the wireless reader device. The response signals are transmitted from the wireless electronic circuit in response to receiving the interrogation signals from the wireless reader device. The response signals convey a control parameter to the wireless reader device that is associated with a second operational parameter. Thereafter, the wireless reader device and/or the one or more other devices are controlled based on the second operational parameter.

  • Patent number: 8983916
Abstract: Embodiments associated with configurable, repeatable, data generation are described. One example method includes manipulating a redundancy parameter that controls data redundancy in binary large objects (BLOBs) to be included in a generated data set. The redundancy parameters may control variations in repeatable variable length sequences included in BLOBs. The example method also includes manipulating a parameter(s) that controls custom designed sequences included in BLOBs. With the redundancy and custom designed sequences described, the example method then generates BLOBs based, at least in part, on the redundancy parameters and the custom-designed sequences. BLOBs may include byte sequences repeated at different frequencies and configurable user-designed sequences. Manipulating the redundancy parameter, manipulating the custom-designed sequences, generating the BLOBs, and providing the BLOBS may be performed by separate processes acting in parallel.

  • Publication number: 20150059905
Abstract: A pipe assembly for an exhaust system having a pipe with first end and a second end. The first end of the pipe having a shoulder with an inclined lip. The inclined lip facing outward from the first end of the pipe. Further, the pipe assembly includes a corrugated conduit having a collared end. The collared end abuts the inclined lip on the first end of the pipe thereby forming a joint with the pipe. Further, a shim ring is disposed on the joint. Furthermore, the assembly includes a clamp configured to circumference the joint and compresses the shim ring there between to form a seal at the joint.

  • Patent number: 8929901
Abstract: A method, NodeB and User Equipment for TDD operation in a communication system operating in TDD mode in a frequency band allocated for FDD operation. Preferably, operation is in TDD uplink and downlink mode in a first frequency band designated or normally used for FDD uplink communication, and in TDD downlink-only mode in a second frequency band designated or normally used for FDD downlink communication. The invention provides the following advantages: Provides a flexible method to deploy a time division duplex architecture in frequency division duplex spectrum. Allows flexible use of system capacity by adjusting the uplink and downlink capacity split. Removes previous FDD duplex restrictions.

  • Patent number: 8924508
Abstract: In general, techniques are described for advertising end user content delivery reachability by content delivery networks (CDNs) to upstream content serving entities. In one example, a CDN interconnection (CDNI) device of a content serving entity receives a prefix advertisement that specifies a downstream entity and indicates the downstream entity provides content delivery reachability to the network address prefix. A request router of the CDNI device receives a content request that includes a request for content and specifies a network address of an end user device to receive the content, wherein the network address is within a range defined by the network address prefix. The request router selects the downstream entity to serve the content request based at least on the content delivery reachability indication and redirects the content request to the downstream entity.

  • Publication number: 20140369441
Abstract: A cellular communication system comprises a Multiple-In Multiple-Out, MIMO, transmitter and receiver. The MIMO transmitter comprises a message generator for generating MIMO messages comprising selected training sequences and transceivers transmitting the messages on a plurality of antennas. The training sequences are selected by a midamble selector from a set of training sequences in response to an associated antenna on which the message is to be transmitted. The set of training sequences is associated with the cell of the MIMO transmitter and comprises disjoint subsets of training sequences for each of the plurality of antennas. The receiver comprises a transmit antenna detector which determines which antenna of the MIMO transmitter the message is transmitted from in response to the training sequence of the received message.

  • Patent number: RE45757
Abstract: A cellular wireless internet access system which operates in the 2.5 to 2.68 GHz band and which must comply with complex government regulations on power levels, subscriber equipment and interference levels yet which provides high data rates to users and cell sizes of 1½ miles radius or more from base stations with subscriber equipment and antennas mounted indoors. Such base stations are mounted low and use spread-spectrum transmission to comply with interference rules with respect to adjacent license areas. An unidirectional tear-drop coverage pattern is used at multiple cells to further reduce interference when required. Time division duplex is used to allow the system to operate on any single channel of varying bandwidth within the 2.5 to 2.68 GHz band. Backhaul transmission from base stations to the Internet is provided using base station radio equipment, operating either on a different frequency in the band or on the same frequency using a time-division peer-to-peer technique.
