  • Publication number: 20050091851
Abstract: A rigid drive axle assembly includes a support beam member having a substantially flat central plate section, a differential assembly module secured to the central plate section through at least two threaded studs extending from the central plate section. The differential assembly module includes a differential carrier frame member having two bearing hubs receiving differential bearings. A method for verifying a predetermined bearing preload of the differential assembly module comprises the steps of preloading the differential bearings to the predetermined bearing preload, inserting mounting bores in the bearing hubs of the frame member onto the mounting studs, and determining that the differential bearings are properly preloaded if the mounting studs are received in the mounting bores in the differential carrier frame member without substantial resistance, or determining that the differential bearings are not properly preloaded if the mounting studs may not be received in the mounting bores easily.

  • Publication number: 20040078806
Abstract: A method for controlling viewing of television programs comprising storing user profile records comprising fields having values in a memory; providing a user interface having a list of the stored user profile records; and upon user command, displaying a stored user profile record in summary form in the user interface. Preferably, the user command comprises highlighting a stored user profile record in the list, resulting in the values of the highlighted stored user profile record being displayed in summary form in the user interface.

  • Publication number: 20020087982
Abstract: Method and apparatus for rapidly advancing an EPG, wherein a viewer can use a time line to advance an EPG hours, days, weeks and/or months in the future to a desired day and time. The viewer can then advance the time window of the EPG as is conventionally done in one-half hour increments to view desired program listings.

  • Patent number: 4038526
Abstract: The disclosure of this invention pertains to a system for optimizing fuel consumption in an aircraft having two engines, wherein a computer is programmed to increase the fuel flow to the engine which, consequent upon a fuel flow perturbation, shows itself to be responsible for the greater acceleration of the aircraft. Direction changes resulting from unequal fuel flows to the engines are compensated for by automatic rudder control, and speed changes resulting from the fuel flow changes are compensated for by automatic speed control also acting on fuel flow, all whereby direction and speed of flight are maintained while fuel consumption is minimized.

  • Patent number: 4032757
Abstract: Control apparatus for controlling an aircraft gas-turbine engine, having two control lanes operated in parallel with one another and each of which is capable of performing the function of the control apparatus individually, includes a computer and a monitor unit associated with each lane for performing checks on the integrity of the components of both lanes. Transducers in each lane sense engine parameter values and pass signals in accordance therewith to the computer that sends control signals to a control unit and thence to an actuator for adjusting engine variables in accordance with engine-thrust requirements. The control unit includes a pair of cam-operated switches that respond to difference in the values of the control signal from each lane indicative of a fault in the lanes and that trigger operation of the monitor unit in each lane.
