  • Patent number: 4918536
Abstract: An image recording system including a photosensitive medium having a layer of microcapsules formed on a substrate, each of the microcapsules having a photosensitive resin which is curable upon exposure to a radiation, and a colorless chromogenic material or color former which is capable of chemically reacting with a developer material, to form a visible image. The system further includes an exposing device for forming a latent image on the photosensitive medium according to image signals, by exposure of the medium to the radiation. The latent image is developed into a visible image. A communication device is provided for translating facsimile signals into corresponding picture signals. The facsimile signals are received from a remote facsimile transmitter through a communication channel and represent an image of a subject copy.

  • Patent number: 4825256
Abstract: An image recording device wherein a photo-sensitive paper or a plain paper is selected as a recording medium. If a monochrom image is to be recorded, a provisional image formed with light-shield materials which corresponds to an original image to be recorded is directly transferred onto the plain paper to form a monochrom image thereon. If a color image is to be recorded, the light-shield image is once transferred onto an image carrier, and the light-shield image carried on the image carrier is exposed on the photo-sensitive paper to form a latent image thereon. The latent image formed on the photo-sensitive paper by the above exposure is then developed to a visible color image.

  • Patent number: 4801932
Abstract: A display apparatus using a light-transmitting ceramic having an electrooptic effect. A voltage application head has at least a pair of electrodes which contact the light-transmitting ceramic. The head is driven by a head driver so as to scan across a surface of the light-transmitting ceramic. Electrodes may be formed also on the surface of the light-transmitting ceramic. A bright and dark pattern caused by double refraction in the light-transmitting ceramic is seen through a polarizing plate.

  • Patent number: 4733950
Abstract: A display apparatus using a light-transmitting ceramic plate having an electrooptic effect known as Kerr effect is disclosed. The ceramic plate is placed between two parallel polarizers having a same axis of polarization. A transparent flexible sheet faces a surface of the ceramic plate. The flexible sheet has a plurality of transparent striped electrodes on a surface facing the surface of the ceramic plate. The striped electrodes are locally brought into contact with the surface of the ceramic plate by a pressure applied by a pressure application head which is either always or intermittently pressed onto the flexible sheet. The pressure application head is movable in a direction parallel to the striped electrodes for scanning.
