  • Publication number: 20140060147
Abstract: A method and system are disclosed for verifying the flow rate of gas through a mass flow controller, such as a mass flow controller used with a tool for semiconductor or solar cell fabrication. To verify the mass flow rate measured by the mass flow controller, gas passing through the mass flow controller is also passed through a mass flow meter. The measured flow rate through the mass flow controller is compared to the measured flow rate through the mass flow meter and any difference between the two measured flow rates is determined. Depending upon the magnitude of any difference, the flow of gas to the mass flow controller may be altered.

  • Patent number: 8518690
Abstract: A method, device and system for producing preselected products, (either finished products or preselected intermediary products) from biobased precursors or CO2 and/or bicarbonate. The principal features of the present invention include a method wherein a binary culture is incubated with a biobased precursor in a closed system to transform at least a portion of the biobased precursor to a preselected product. The present invention provides a method of cultivation that does not need sparging of a closed bioreactor to remove or add a gaseous byproduct or nutrient from a liquid medium. This improvement leads to significant savings in energy consumption and allows for the design of photobioreactors of any desired shape. The present invention also allows for the use of a variety of types of waste materials to be used as the organic starting material.

  • Publication number: 20120290361
Abstract: The present invention relates to a system and method for efficiently estimating the sensitivity, or elasticity, of customer demand to changes in price in a business-to-business market environment. More particularly, this method relies on a parametric demand model, and a corresponding offer model which is referred to as the Joint Demand Model. This model is used to estimate the elasticity of market segments using win-only transactional data. In addition, this invention provides a method for efficiently calculating the estimation error of the estimated elasticity, and uses such estimation error in a weighting scheme based on a hierarchical model in order to produce a reliable estimate of elasticity.

  • Patent number: 8047706
Abstract: Methods and systems for calibrating a temperature control system in a vapor deposition chamber. A temperature sensor senses temperature within a semiconductor processing chamber and generates an output signal. A temperature control system controls a chamber temperature by controlling a heating apparatus based on the output signal. A method includes instructing the control system to target a setpoint temperature, and depositing a layer of material onto a surface in the chamber by a vapor deposition process. A variation of a property of the layer is measured while depositing the layer, the property known to vary cyclically as a thickness of the layer increases. The measured property is allowed to vary cyclically for one or more cycles. If there is a difference between a time period of one or more of the cycles and an expected time period associated with the setpoint temperature, the temperature control system is adjusted based on the difference.

  • Patent number: 7841221
Abstract: A lock assembly is provided which includes a lock mechanism with cover, and a pair of vertically movable locking rods. The lock mechanism is readily mountable to a liner of a cabinet door by a clamp member which permits initial clamping of the mechanism on an inner liner of the door, after which the inner liner is mounted to an outer finish panel. After assembly of the inner liner to the outer panel, the lock assembly is clamped in an aligned position in alignment with a corresponding lock aperture in the outer panel. The lock assembly further includes a fastener-free connector arrangement between a lock rack of the lock mechanism and the locking rods which is slidably driven thereby. A cover is snap fittingly mounted on the inner liner to guide the locking rod and prevent disengagement from the lock rack.
