  • Publication number: 20190331593
Abstract: An on-chip spectroscopic sensor includes a tunable diode laser. A laser driver for drives the tunable diode laser. An analyte test cavity receives a chemical sample and exposes the received chemical sample to light from the tunable diode laser. An optical detector detects light emerging from the analyte test cavity as a result of the laser exposure. A spectral analyzer determines a spectrum of the emerging light, matches and removes one or more known optical fringe patterns from the determined spectrum, and determines a composition or concentration of the chemical sample from the optical fringe pattern-removed spectrum.

  • Publication number: 20190200156
Abstract: An exemplary microphone capture simulation system accesses a captured set of audio signals captured by a plurality of directional microphones disposed at a plurality of locations on a perimeter of a capture zone of a real-world scene. The system identifies a location within the capture zone that corresponds to a virtual location at which a user is virtually located within a virtual reality space that is based on the capture zone. Based on the captured set of audio signals and the identified location, the system generates a simulated set of audio signals representative of a simulation of a full-sphere multi-capsule microphone capture at the identified location. The system processes the simulated set of audio signals to form a renderable set of audio signals configured to be rendered to simulate full-sphere sound for the virtual location while the user is virtually located at the virtual location.

  • Publication number: 20190200155
Abstract: An exemplary ambient sound extraction system accesses a location-confined A-format signal that includes a first set of audio signals captured by different capsules of a multi-capsule microphone disposed at a first location with respect to a capture zone of a real-world scene. The ambient sound extraction system also accesses a second set of audio signals captured by a plurality of microphones disposed at a plurality of other locations with respect to the capture zone. The ambient sound extraction system generates a location-diffused A-format signal. The location-diffused A-format signal includes a third set of audio signals that is based on the first and second sets of audio signals. Based on the location-diffused A-format signal, the ambient sound extraction system generates a location-diffused B-format signal representative of ambient sound in the capture zone. Corresponding methods are also disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20190187051
Abstract: A tunable diode laser absorption spectroscopy device includes a tunable diode laser. A laser driver is configured to drive the diode laser and ramp it within a particular frequency range. An analyte gas container, a reference gas container, and a fringe generating device are configured to receive the laser therethrough. An optical detector is configured to detect the laser after it has passed through the analyte gas container and/or the reference gas container, and the in-line fringe generating device. An acquisition card is configured to sample an output of the optical detector. A spectral analyzer is configured to receive output data from the acquisition card, determine a spectrum of the output data, decouple the fringe spectrum from the measured spectrum, calibrate the spectrum based on an expected ideal spectrum of both the fringe and reference gas, and determine a composition of the analyte based on the calibrated spectrum.

  • Publication number: 20150199307
Abstract: Techniques are shown for enabling a network system to receive collaborative edits from users at a first front end URL, and receive viewing requests from users at a second front end URL. The edits are processed using operational transformation techniques and stored as sets of edits. Multiple pluggable flattening utilities retrieve the sets of edits and convert them into structured data documents specifically tailored for different client devices or online services. The structured data documents are stored and retrieved by rendering servers upon receiving viewing requests. This Abstract is submitted with the understanding that it will not be used to interpret or limit the scope or meaning of the claims.

  • Patent number: 8909596
Abstract: Solutions, systems, and techniques for applying 2-dimensional changes to a shared document are discussed. The document is divided into vertical columns of a particular width, each column represented as a one-dimensional vector that is a sequential list of blocks in that column, each block representing a content item included in the document. Each block has a starting column, a block height, and a block width indicated by how many columns the block occupies. Each block has row indexes that represent a relative position of the block in each column it occupies. A document modification command is represented as transfer functions, each transfer function corresponding to a document column. The transfer functions are applied to the document columns to alter a row index of block(s) in the corresponding column(s), thereby altering the relative position of a block with respect to other blocks in that column.
