  • Publication number: 20020185814
Abstract: A player selects the number of hands that the player wishes to play. A plurality of initial partial hands are displayed to the player. Each initial partial hand has the same cards with the cards displayed face up to the player. Each hand is then completed as a stud poker final hand by dealing the additional cards from either the original single deck of cards (less the initially dealt cards) or from a plurality of partial depleted decks of playing cards, each depleted deck of playing cards comprising a full deck less the cards dealt as the initial partial hand. The player wins or loses depending on the poker hand ranking of each final hand. The amount won by the player is based on the poker hand ranking of each final hand and the amount wagered by the player according to a pay table.

  • Publication number: 20020169015
Abstract: A method for conducting a multiple hand video poker game incorporating a bad beat feature begins with a player making a wager to receive a first hand of cards. The player holds zero or more cards and the held cards are reproduced into additional poker hands. Replacement cards are dealt into each hand to form completed poker hands. The player is rewarded for each winning hand combination. Additionally, if the player's first hand prior to replacement matches one of a set of qualifying starting hands and none of the player's completed poker hands matches a final hand corresponding to the qualifying starting hand obtained, a bad beat award is issued to the player.

  • Patent number: 6478677
Abstract: A game of chance is based on a keno-type game which uses one or more groups of number ranges, such as a HI group of number ranges, a LO group of number ranges and a HI/LO group of number ranges. A player makes a wager on one or more of the groups of number ranges. Each number range in a group has payout odds assigned thereto. After all wagers are made, a predetermined amount of numbers, say twenty, are randomly selected from the pool of numbers, say eighty. The numbers randomly selected are added up to determine a numerical total. The number range in which the numerical total falls is determined and the player is provided an award based on the payout odds for the number range within which the numerical total falls. The number range feature of the present invention may also be used in conjunction with a regular game of keno.

  • Publication number: 20020142828
Abstract: The player makes a wager for each separate hand to be played. One hand of four cards are dealt. The player selects cards from the first hand as cards to be held which are reused from the first hand into all of the other hands. Replacement cards for the non-selected cards are dealt into the first hand and an additional card is dealt so that the first hand has five cards. Additional cards are also dealt to all of the other hands so that each hand is a five card hand. The poker hand ranking of each hand is determined. The player is then paid for any winning poker hands based on a pay table and the amount of the player's wager.

  • Patent number: 6419578
Abstract: A starting hand of five cards is dealt and the player then plays this hand with a first pay table. If the player's starting hand of cards has a poker hand ranking of any preselected combination of cards, such as a Three-of-a-Kind, the player is given the option of choosing to play the rest of the hand with a second pay table which has higher awards to the player than the first pay table. In another variation, the player is dealt a starting hand of cards, such as five cards, and the player would play this hand with a pay table. If the player's starting hand of cards has a poker hand ranking of a preselected combination of cards, such as a Three-of-a-Kind, the player is given a second hand of cards identical to the first hand of cards and the player plays out both the first hand and the second hand by discarding and drawing replacement cards.

  • Patent number: 6368212
Abstract: A fifty-two card deck of playing cards are displayed all face down. The player makes three separate wagers. A player selects five of the cards and the computer selects randomly five of the cards. All selected cards are turned face up. The poker hand ranking of the player's five cards is determined and the player is paid based on a pay table and the amount of the player's first wager if the player achieves a predetermined poker hand ranking on the player's five cards. The poker hand ranking of the computer's five cards is determined and the player is paid based on a pay table and the amount of the player's second wager if the player achieves a predetermined poker hand ranking on the computer's five cards. The player is also paid based multiples of the amount of the player's third wager based on the number of matches between the player's five cards and the computer's five cards. The method may also be practiced using two player's hands and two computer hands.

  • Patent number: 6311978
Abstract: A game of Twenty-One in which the player has the opportunity to play his first two cards multiple times. The player makes two or more wagers at the beginning of the hand. The player is dealt two cards which may be dealt two cards to each player, or one card to each player and one community card common to all players or two community cards common to each player. The player uses the first two cards as his first hand with his first wager and plays these two cards as he would in the conventional manner of play of Twenty-One. The player may Double Down, split pairs, take Insurance and/or Surrender. After the player has completed the play of his first hand, he uses his original two cards again as the first two cards of his second hand with his second wager. • Patent number: 6120378
Abstract: A player makes a wager for each pay line on a slot machine that the player wishes to play. On a first pay line of the slot machine, a first row of symbols is displayed to the player. The player selects none, one or more of the symbols from the first pay line as symbols to be held. The symbols that are held are duplicated from the first pay line into all of the other pay lines on which the player has wagered. Replacement symbols for the non-selected symbols are then randomly displayed on the first pay line for the symbols that were discarded. Additional symbols are also randomly displayed into all of the other pay lines wagered on by the player so that each pay line has the required number of symbols. The ranking of each pay line is determined by comparing the results of the displayed symbols to a pay table. The player is then paid for any winning pay lines based on the pay table and the amount of the player's wager.

  • Patent number: 6098985
Abstract: The method of the present invention involves a card game in which the player plays multiple hands of cards. The player makes a wager for each row of cards and each row of cards becomes a separate hand to be played by the player. One hand of two, three, four or five cards are dealt all face up. The player selects none, one or more of the face up cards from the first hand as cards to be held. The cards that are held are duplicated from the first hand into all of the other hands. Replacement cards for the non-selected cards are dealt into the first hand and additional cards are then dealt to the first hand, if needed, so that the first hand has five cards. Additional cards are also dealt to all of the other hands so that each hand is a five card hand. The poker hand ranking of each five card hand is determined row by row. The player is then paid for any winning poker hands based on a pay table and the amount of the player's wager.
