  • Patent number: 6802773
Abstract: A method for conducting a multiple hand video poker game incorporating a bad beat feature begins with a player making a wager to receive a first hand of cards. The player holds zero or more cards and the held cards are reproduced into additional poker hands. Replacement cards are dealt into each hand to form completed poker hands. The player is rewarded for each winning hand combination. Additionally, if the player's first hand prior to replacement matches one of a set of qualifying starting hands and none of the player's completed poker hands matches a final hand corresponding to the qualifying starting hand obtained, a bad beat award is issued to the player.

  • Publication number: 20040198478
Abstract: If the player achieves a winning combination of symbols on active pay lines, the player is provided with a second spin of the slot reels, but the first set of slot symbols are replaced with a second set of slot symbols that have higher potential payouts. If the player achieves a winning combination of symbols on active pay lines on the second spin, a third spin is offered with a third set of symbols with even higher potential payouts. As long as the player keeps winning on each successive spin, the symbols continue to be replaced with higher value symbols. Once the player loses, the symbols reset to the first symbol set. Each successive spin may be a free spin, or may require an additional wager for the successive spins, or the some of the successive spins may be free and others may be require an additional wager.

  • Publication number: 20040188938
Abstract: The method of present invention involves dealing the player a starting hand of cards, such as five cards, and the player then plays this hand with a first pay table. If the player's starting hand of cards has a poker hand ranking of any preselected combination of cards, such as a Three-of-a-Kind, the player is given the option of buying a second hand of cards identical to the first hand of cards which is accomplished by making another wager. The player then plays out both the first hand and the second hand by discarding and drawing replacement cards. The final first hand and the final second hand are then compared to the pay table to determine winning and losing combinations based on poker hand ranking. This method of play may also be played in a multiple hand format.

  • Publication number: 20040127276
Abstract: Novel payout methods are provided in a video device and method in which playing cards are displayed in a matrix. If a predetermined winning card combination is obtained in any column or row of the matrix, an award is issued and the cards of the winning combination are removed from the matrix. The matrix may be reconstituted by moving the remaining cards. Open card locations in the matrix are filled with other cards and the matrix is reanalyzed to determine if other winning card combinations have been obtained. The removal and replacement repeats until there are no more winning card combinations in the matrix. The player is issued an award based upon the winning combinations obtained.

  • Patent number: 6702669
Abstract: A game of chance is based on a keno-type game which uses one or more groups of number ranges, such as a HI group of number ranges, a LO group of number ranges and a HI/LO group of number ranges. A player makes a wager on one or more of the groups of number ranges. Each number range in a group has payout odds assigned thereto. After all wagers are made, a predetermined amount of numbers, say twenty, are randomly selected from the pool of numbers, say eighty. The numbers randomly selected are added up to determine a numerical total. The number range in which the numerical total falls is determined and the player is provided an award based on the payout odds for the number range within which the numerical total falls. • Publication number: 20040009810
Abstract: Players are provided with higher payouts on a random basis for certain winning hand combinations that occur during the play of video poker by providing an indicator on a random basis that shows the player that certain winning combinations have increased payouts for that particular hand. The indicator is randomly activated from hand to hand so that the payouts for certain winning combinations are changed constantly. One way to indicate to the player which payouts are being used for that hand is to use colors as the indicator. The cards used can be designated with colors, such as red, white or blue, that correspond to different payouts for different winning hand combinations. Or a colored ball can be randomly selected from a hopper filled with various colored balls.

  • Patent number: 6652377
Abstract: A card game in which the player makes a wager to play one or more poker hands which are displayed as pay lines in a display that looks like a multi-line slot reel machine. Three adjoining horizontal rows, each having five card locations, are displayed to the player. The reels are spun a first time and one row of playing cards, such as the center row and representing a first hand, are displayed to the player. The player selects none, one or more of the face up cards from the first hand as cards to be held. The cards that are held are reused from the first row into all of the other rows. The reels that do not have held cards are then respun so that additional cards are displayed into the first row and all other rows so that each row is a five card hand. The poker hand ranking of each five card hand along each pay line which is being played by the player is determined. • Publication number: 20030197329
Abstract: The game of craps is modified to allow a player to make an HARD WAY CRAPS bet instead of the standard ODDS bet. The HARD WAY CRAPS bet is available whenever a point number of 4, 6, 8, or 10 has been rolled and the player has a PASS line or COME line wager. If the point is 6 or 8, the HARD WAY CRAPS bet would pay two-to-one odds if the point is made with a 3,3 or 4,4 and would pay one-to-one odds if the point is made with any other roll. If the point is 4 or 10, the HARD WAY CRAPS bet would be pay four-to-one odds if the point is made with a 2,2 or 5,5 and would pay one-to-one odds if the point is made with any other roll. A corollary wager is offered for the DON'T PASS line or the DON'T COME line.
