  • Patent number: 5560585
Abstract: A tank ventilation valve suitable for metering introduction of fuel evaporated from the fuel tank of a mixture-compressing, externally ignited internal combustion engine into an induction duct of the internal combustion engine. The valve closing element has at least one damper element which protrudes through the valve closing in the axial direction and which forms a first damping surface directed towards the valve seat body on the first end surface of the valve closing element, and a second damping surface directed towards the electromagnet on the second end surface of the valve closing element so that an impact by the valve closing element on the valve seat body or on the magnet core is avoided or damped.

  • Patent number: 5293144
Abstract: An electric rotary actuator, particularly for controlling a throttle cross-section in a line conducting operating fluid of an internal combustion engine has a housing, motor actuating unit including windings and magnetic poles located in the housing and magnetic armature rotatable relative to the windings and to the magnetic poles, a throttle. The housing has ducts leading into an interior space between the windings and each having an end at another end face of the armature. The armature has at least one cutout extending in an axial direction and bringable in alignment with the ducts. The armature forms the throttle member through which a fluid to be controlled is conducted.

  • Patent number: 5209199
Abstract: The control apparatus has a fuel injection pump, into which suction chamber fuel is fed by a feed pump that aspirates from a tank. A reversing valve is included in the connecting lines between the tank and the fuel injection pump, and by means of this valve, to turn off the engine, the line connections can be changed such that the suction chamber communicates with the feed side of the feed pump and the compression side of the feed pump communicates with the tank. The reversing valve is embodied as a two-position multiposition valve and has an electromagnet, disposed, partly spray-coated, in the valve housing, which is of plastic, of the multiposition valve. A valve member can be displaced counter to the force of a restoring spring by the electromagnet; the valve member acts upon one ball at a time, serving as a closing body, of double seat valves disposed on both sides of the valve member.

  • Patent number: 5178116
Abstract: A tank vent valve for the metered admixing of volatilized fuel to the fuel/air mixture of an internal combustion engine has a valve housing with inflow and outflow sockets, between which is arranged an electromagnetically operable seated valve, which is spring loaded in the closing direction by a valve closing spring. For the simple design of the tank valve, the valve opening of the seat is arranged as a ring gap nozzle in the return yoke of the electromagnet, and the valve double seat which acts in conjunction with the valve member and which surrounds the ring gap nozzle is arranged on that side of the return yoke which faces the inflow socket. For setting the stroke of the valve member, the hollow cylindrical magnet core of the magnet housing can be threaded by means of an adjusting thread in the magnet housing. Supported on the magnet core is a valve closing spring, which loads the valve member which is formed by the armature of the electromagnet, in the closing direction.

  • Patent number: 4763635
Abstract: A discharge system is proposed which serves to introduce volatilized fuel into an intake tube of an internal combustion engine. The discharge system includes a discharge regulation valve, which on one side is located at an outlet line of an absorber element that emits volatilized fuel and on the other side is located at an outflow line which leads to the intake tube downstream of a throttle device. The discharge regulation valve includes a bottom portion and a cover between which one end of a leaf spring is firmly fastened. The other end of the leaf spring is loosely guided in a gap between the bottom portion and the cover. An armature is joined to the leaf spring and a valve closing body is secured to the armature remote from the leaf spring. A core is secured on a magnet housing disposed in the bottom portion and has a through conduit, which at one end terminates at a valve seat.

  • Patent number: 4729360
Abstract: A damper element is proposed which serves to damp a pulsating fluid flow, in particular to smooth out and reduce pressure fluctuations arising in fuel supply systems for internal combustion engines in motor vehicles. The damper element includes a base and a cap, which are welded to one another and a damper diaphragm is clamped between these elements. The damper diaphragm, in order to prevent diffusion of the fluid into a damper chamber of the cap, is embodied either as a polyimide diaphragm or as a combination of a fabric diaphragm and a polyimide diaphragm. The clamping area of the cap is embodied as inclined slightly toward the damper diaphragm by an angle .alpha., so that a long-term fastening and sealing of the damper diaphragm is assured.

  • Patent number: 4647087
Abstract: A central locking system for use in a motor vehicle includes a pressure source generating preferably an under pressure and an over pressure. The source is connected to a series of pneumatic control units each including a pressure chamber, a control element arranged in the chamber for movement between two control positions, an opening in the chamber communicating with a space enclosing a valve which normally closes the opening and the space being provided with a discharging nipple which is coupled via the subsequent series connected control units to an indicator device. The indicator device is arranged in the field of view of the car operator. In this manner, the operating condition of locking devices which are outside of view of the operator can be reliably checked.
