  • Patent number: 11986666
Abstract: Illumination devices for impinging light on tissue, for example within a body cavity of a patient, to induce various biological effects are disclosed. Biological effects may include at least one of inactivating and/or inhibiting growth of one or more pathogens, upregulating a local immune response, increasing endogenous stores of nitric oxide, releasing nitric oxide from endogenous stores, and inducing an anti-inflammatory effect. Biological effects may include upregulating and downregulating inflammatory immune response molecules within a target tissue. Wavelengths of light are selected based on intended biological effects for one or more of targeted tissue types and targeted pathogens. Light treatments may provide multiple pathogenic biological effects, either with light of a single wavelength or with light having multiple wavelengths.

  • Patent number: 10031398
Abstract: There is presented a spectroscopic apparatus and method wherein an input light source that inputs pump light to a photon pair source. The photon pair source converts pump photons into signal and idler photon pairs. The photon pair source is, in some of examples described herein, tuneable so that the wavelength of the signal and idler photons can be changed by application of a tuning means. At least one of the signal and idler photons is made incident upon a medium under test. A heralding detection apparatus is used to detect any signal and idler photons output from the spectroscopy apparatus, wherein at least one of the photons of the pair has interacted with or been operated upon by the medium under test.

  • Patent number: 8082713
Abstract: A screed corner comprises a screed base including substantially perpendicular nailing flanges and a bead leg extending away from each nailing flange. The bead has a horizontally disposed V-shaped cross section. A separate screed corner component is provided to be secured to arms of the bead and to close a gap in the screed base which is located in a volume comprising an intersection of a projection of each bead leg. The screed corner may be provided in a contour in sheet metal which can be readily bent to form a screed base. The screed corner component may comprise formed sheet metal. The corner component may comprise a sharp corner or may comprise a radius at its periphery. In one further form, the bead may comprise a substantially planar surface extending away from the nailing flange. In another, further form, the screed corner may be molded.
