    Abstract: The amplitude and phase errors of the modulation and demodulation in a transceiver are corrected by a self-calibration procedure in which a test signal is applied to the baseband input of the transmitter, and the output of the modulator is looped back to the input of the demodulator. The amplitude and phase errors of the resulting signal at the baseband output of the receiver are detected, and the contributions of the transmitter and receiver to the errors are separated and resolved into amplitude and phase components. Adjustments are then made to the amplitude and phase balance in the transmit and receive signal paths to correct the errors.

Porogen removal and silanol capping can occur concurrently or sequentially. If performed sequentially, silanol capping is performed without first exposing the dielectric matrix to moisture or ambient conditions.

Adhesive is provided on the top and bottom of a highly porous foil so that the adhesive does not form a continuous film. By means of the adhesive, two sheets of elastic fabric are adhered to the top and bottom of the highly porous foil in order to provide a composite material. The composite material is low in density and high in porosity. As the adhesive does not form a continuous film, the composite material is highly porous and is called a moisture-absorbing, quick drying, thermally insulating, elastic, composite material.
