  • Publication number: 20190143056
Abstract: Patient information is associated with a respective ventilator device of a medical ventilator devices. Based on the ventilator data and associating the patient information, a ventilation configuration of the respective ventilator device and patient ventilation data related to a ventilation of the respective patient are determined. A current configuration of each of the plurality of medical ventilators is provided for display. In this regard, a display includes the determined ventilation configuration of the respective ventilator device and patient ventilation data of the respective patient. A control may also be displayed for changing a setting associated with the respective ventilator device and, when a change of the setting is received and implemented by the respective ventilator device, an indication of the change of the setting may be provided. Patient orientation may also be sensed and used to determine whether a setting needs to be changed or suction is needed.

  • Publication number: 20190148630
Abstract: A layered thin film device, such as a MTJ (Magnetic Tunnel Junction) device can be customized in shape by sequentially forming its successive layers over a symmetrically curved electrode. By initially shaping the electrode to have a concave or convex surface, the sequentially formed layers conform to that shape and acquire it and are subject to stresses that cause various crystal defects to migrate away from the axis of symmetry, leaving the region immediately surrounding the axis of symmetry relatively defect free. The resulting stack can then be patterned to leave only the region that is relatively defect free.

  • Patent number: 10286408
Abstract: A cyclonic separator with an inlet, a fuel outlet, an inner wall comprising a water-permeable material, an outer wall, a cavity between the inner wall and the outer wall, and a water outlet. The cyclonic separator is adapted to discharge water from the water outlet via the cavity and relatively less dense liquid fuel from the fuel outlet. The water-permeable material enables water in the cyclonic separator to flow through the water-permeable material into the cavity, but substantially prevents liquid fuel in the cyclonic separator from doing so.

  • Patent number: 10289617
Abstract: Techniques are disclosed for accessing on-premise and off-premise datastores organized using different application schemas. An interface serves requests, from a tenant, by accessing either the on-premise datastore or the off-premise datastore. The interface receives a request for a particular data set. Based on the request itself, the interface selects either the on-premise datastore or the off-premise datastore to retrieve the particular data set. The interface retrieves the particular data set from the selected datastore without attempting to retrieve the particular data set from the non-selected datastore. The interface transmits and/or presents the particular data set.

  • Patent number: 10286714
Abstract: A comic book case includes a base and a cover configured to compress and secure a comic book in place under frictional pressure such that the book cannot easily shift or slip within the case. Prior art cases that included walls surrounding the top, bottom and side edges of a book typically allowed some free movement or slippage of the book between the walls. This movement or slippage could result in damage such as curling or crinkling of the edges of the book if the case were exposed to a physical shock, such as by being dropped. The base includes a raised base platform and the cover includes a depressed cover platform, which extends towards the base platform to create a space within which the book is securely held.

  • Patent number: 10291065
Abstract: A smart plug that is partitioned into a plurality of printed circuit boards (PCBs) in a three dimensional manner to reduce its size. Aspects consider the effect of the possible increased internal temperature as the size of the smart plug is reduced. For example, thick metal foils connect various components of a smart plug to reduce heat dissipation within the smart plug. Also, a metal foil may transfer heat from contact metal on a PCB to a side wall of a plastic housing of the smart plug. The smart plug may comprise a computing device that obtains information identifying the attached electrical device and accesses device data about the time duration during which the attached electrical device exhibits transient characteristics. The computing device then uses the accessed data to effectively control the attached electrical device.

In certain cases, the condensing apparatus may also include a cooling device positioned external to the vessel configured and positioned to remove heat from the heat exchanger outlet stream to produce a cooling device outlet stream. The condensing apparatus may be configured to include various internal features, such as a vapor distribution region and/or a plurality of liquid flow control weirs and/or chambers within the apparatus having an aspect ratio of at least 1.5. A condensing apparatus may be coupled with a humidifier to form part of a desalination system, in certain cases.

  • Patent number: 10290169
Abstract: A standard sized coin roll holder is loaded with a stack of alternating coins and spacers such that a variable number of coins can be accommodated in a standard sized holder. The number of coins loaded into the holder can be configured to be one more than the number of spacers, starting with a coin, then a spacer and so on, such that a coin occupies both the first position and the last position in the stack and making a coin face visible at each end. A twenty coin holder can be loaded, for example, with 10 coins and 9 spacers or with 5 coins and 4 spacers. A compressible silicone rubber washer can also be included to account for slight variations in coin thickness, thus securing the stack within the available height inside a closed and sealed case.

  • Patent number: 10290949
Abstract: A passively switched resonant chamber includes one or more conductive walls defining a resonant cavity configured to store energy in an electromagnetic field. The passively switched resonant chamber also includes a switching device that includes a first conductive wire having a first end extending into the resonant cavity. The switching device also includes a second conductive wire having a second end extending into the resonant cavity. The second end is separated from the first end by a gap. • Publication number: 20190134518
Abstract: An expandable play set as well as associated methods, communication protocols, and tangible computer-readable media are disclosed. The play set may generate interactive responses based upon which characters are coupled to a base unit and to which connectors of the base unit the characters are coupled. A character may include circuitry that permits the character to identify to which connector of the base unit the character is coupled. Such circuitry may also permit the character to identify and communicate with other characters that are also coupled to the base unit. Based upon obtained identifiers, the character may generate or otherwise cause suitable interactive responses such as activating a load in the base unit, turning on a light in the base unit and/or character, and/or generating a suitable audible response via an audio speaker of the character.
