  • Patent number: 11979599
Abstract: A method of performing motion vector prediction for coding video data is disclosed. A full precision motion vector mv is determined for generating a prediction for video block in a first picture. A rounded motion vector rmv having a less precision than the full precision motion vector mv is stored. A motion vector predictor candidate is generated for a video block in a second picture from the stored motion vector.

  • Patent number: 11972442
Abstract: Techniques and embodiments are described herein for detecting and mitigating fraudulent activity within user experience (UX) test applications. In some embodiments, a system applies a set of rules and/or machine learning (ML) models to each respondent of an online survey or UX test. Different ML models may be trained to learn domain-specific patterns indicative of fraudulent activity. The system may then select the ML models based on attributes of the UX test and/or respondent. The selected rules and/or ML models may generate a probabilistic score representing a likelihood that the respondent is currently engaging in or will engage in fraudulent activity with respect to a UX test. If the score exceeds a threshold, then the system may take action to mitigate the fraudulent activity, such as triggering the removal of the user from an accepted respondent pool, halting further engagement between the respondent and the UX test, and generating alerts.

  • Patent number: 11968391
Abstract: This disclosure relates to video coding and more particularly to techniques for performing motion vector prediction. According to an aspect of an invention, a motion vector and a corresponding reference picture identifier for the motion vector are received; a reference picture corresponding to a second motion vector is determined based on the reference picture corresponding to the received motion vector and a current picture; a scaling value is determined based on the determined reference picture, the reference picture corresponding to the received motion vector, and the current picture; and the second motion vector is generated from the received motion vector by scaling with the scaling value.

  • Publication number: 20240118993
Abstract: Techniques are described herein for selecting, curating, normalizing, enriching, and synthesizing the results of user experience tests. In some embodiments, a system identifies a qualitative element within a result set for a user experience test. The system then selects a machine learning model to apply based on one or more attributes associated with the user experience test and generates a predicted visibility, quality, and/or relevance for the qualitative element. Based on the prediction, the system generates a user interface that curates a set of results of the user experience test.

Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for managing the transmission of mixed-modality messages using machine learning models. An example method generally includes generating, using a first machine learning model, an embedding representation of a mixed-modality message. The mixed-modality message is classified as an effective message or an ineffective message using a second machine learning model and the embedding representation of the mixed-modality message. One or more actions are taken to manage transmission of the mixed-modality message based on the classifying the mixed-modality message as an effective message or an ineffective message.

  • Publication number: 20240017084
Abstract: A system may measure, via a functional Near-Infrared Spectroscopy (fNIRS) device, a first set of measurements of a prefrontal cortex region of a patient. The system may perform, via a transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) device, TMS treatment to the prefrontal cortex region for therapeutic effect. The fNIRS device may measure a second set of measurements of the prefrontal cortex region. The system includes a processor to determine an applied dosing of the TMS treatment based on the first set of measurements and/or the second set of measurements. The system may output control feedback to the TMS device or visualization to a display to adjust one or more parameters or localization of the TMS treatment based on the applied dosing. The system personalizes the treatment dosing of TMS more accurately over the prefrontal cortex by calibrating the dose to the prefrontal cortex based on measurements from the fNIRS device.

  • Publication number: 20240017082
Abstract: A device may include a transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) device configured to generate a localized magnetic field waveform at a brain region. A device may include an acoustic controller configured to generate an audio waveform having at least one of rhythm, harmonic element, or melodic element synchronized to the localized magnetic field waveform. In various implementations, the brain region is a motor cortex of a patient. The device can evoke or produce neurostimulation effects through acoustic stimulation (e.g., music) through classical (or Pavlovian) conditioning paired in combination with synchronized transcranial magnetic stimulation output. The device can be used to extend the effects of neuromodulation, thus reducing the burden of in-patient visits (for procedural neurostimulation), reducing battery life demand of implanted devices, or simply improving the patient experience with achieving benefits (i.e., by listening to music versus unnatural sensory sensations with neurostimulation).

  • Patent number: 10542007
Abstract: A method for controlling an operation of an industrial machine that includes authenticating control commands remotely issued by command issuers through a network. The control commands each describe a modifying action to the operation of the industrial machine. The method includes: providing a jump host as a communication buffer between a unit controller of the industrial machine and the network; maintaining within a memory of the jump host whitelisted commands, the whitelisted commands including a list of the approved control commands; receiving, at the jump host, a first control command via the network; determining, at the jump host, whether the first control command is contained within the whitelisted commands; in response to an affirmative determination that the first control command is contained within the whitelisted commands, deeming the first control command as being authenticated; and transmitting the first control command to the unit controller of the industrial machine.

  • Patent number: 10433454
Abstract: An isolated work space is created within a confined area used as an airflow plenum to inhibit the spread of debris and/or contamination. For example, a work area can be formed in an under-floor space of a datacenter. Forming the work area includes erecting an airflow barrier to surround a work area portion of the under-floor space, forming a lower-perimeter seal to seal a bottom edge of the airflow barrier, forming an upper-perimeter seal to seal a top edge of the airflow barrier, operatively connecting a vacuum source with the work area portion, and operating the vacuum source to reduce the air pressure within the work area portion relative to the remaining portion of the under-floor space.
