  • Publication number: 20140044491
Abstract: A standoff system for keeping a containment boom or other floating barrier device spaced at a desired standoff distance away from a structure. The system includes an inner side member, an outer side member, and a plurality of compression members disposed between the side members. The system has a collapsed configuration in which the distance between the inner and outer side members is less than the desired standoff distance, and a deployed configuration in which the distance between the side members is greater than or substantially equal to the desired standoff distance. Alternatively, the system can be collapsed longitudinally by moving the adjacent compression members into abutting relationship with each other. The system is towed into place in the collapsed configuration, and once in place, is transformed into the deployed configuration by applying tension to the side members.

  • Publication number: 20140026056
Abstract: An interface allows objects of a property page of a graphical user interface to be edited without requiring input by the user of software code. The interface converts user generated object edits to a form which is executable by an application program.

  • Patent number: 8608115
Abstract: A point rail is shiftable transversely on an upper face of a rail base plate between an engaged position bearing on a longitudinally extending and fixed stock rail and a disengaged position spaced transversely of the stock rail. A roller assembly has a mounting plate securable to the rail base plate, a roller support pivotal about a support axis on the rail base plate, a roller carried on the roller support, and a spring biasing the roller upward with a predetermined spring force into a lift position with the roller projecting upward past the upper face for supporting the point rail on the roller. Thus this assembly supports the point rail and, in the engaged position, presses it against the support cleats and the stock rail and it is an integral part of one of the rail base plates.

  • Patent number: 8526717
Abstract: A method of finding targets in a color image applies ratio space rich colored filtering to identify a band of pixels that form a transition zone from one rich color to another. This pixel band is reduced to a rich color transition curve. A set of transition curves with simple geometric and color properties for the entire image, can be compared to a database of target properties to identify a target in an image.

  • Publication number: 20130056545
Abstract: The invention relates to a plastic screw plug (6) for attaching a rail to a sleeper, in particular concrete sleeper, having an essentially cylindrical plug body which has at the head end a stem region (7) which preferably adjoins a plug crown (8) toward the bottom, and in the continuation of which stem region (7) has an outer thread (9) with which it can be turned out of or into the sleeper, and is provided with an inner thread (10) underneath the stem region (7) in order to receive a sleeper screw. The intention is to improve such a plastic screw plug, in particular, with regard to its operating properties such as uniform application of force into the sleeper, simpler mounting and replaceability, reduction of the risk of fracturing, and additionally to permit it to be used in a variable way.

  • Publication number: 20120273471
Abstract: A laser match honing system and method are provided for processing one of a pair of mechanically matching components (1, 2) having matching portions (12, 22, 16, 26) that will be fitted with each other. A dimension of the matching portion (12, 16) of the first component (1) is measured and is then used for calculating the desired dimension of the corresponding matching portion (22, 26) of the second component (2). An actual dimension of the matching portion (22, 26) of the second component (2) is also measured. Then, the matching portion (22, 26) of the second component (2) is honed by laser beam in the condition that the actual dimension is not equal to the desired dimension.

  • Patent number: 8297528
Abstract: A rail mount secures a longitudinally extending rail having a foot to a sleeper of a track system. The mount has a rail base plate on the sleeper underneath the rail foot and unitarily formed with a pair of upwardly projecting holders transversely flanking the rail and each formed with at least one vertically throughgoing bore. Respective anchor bolts engaged vertically downward through the bores have heads bearing downward at least indirectly on the respective holders and are seated in the sleeper to hold the base plate down on the sleeper. Respective elastically deformable clips fitted to the holders below the respective anchor-bolt heads bear upwardly on the holders and downwardly on the rail foot to press the rail downwardly toward the sleeper.

  • Patent number: 8245984
Abstract: The invention relates to a device for shifting switch rails (6) associated adjustably with stock rails (7) or mobile frog tongues in railroad switches, configured as a latch or vertical clasp closure, comprising locking catches (4) which are activated by means of a cam or slide rod (5a, 5b), and closure pieces (3) and tongue attachments (2), wherein each locking catch (4) is pivotably supported in a tongue attachment (2) and the switch rail (6) is connected detachably to the tongue attachment (2). An improved and simpler adjustment option is to be created for such a device. For this, the cam or slide rod (5a, 5b) is vertically height-adjustable via a multi-edge body (9) mounted detachably in both closure pieces (3).

  • Publication number: 20110290369
Abstract: A wire cloth includes warp wires and weft wires which cross each other and are interwoven by a weave pattern. The warp wires are formed in at least two different configurations to define warp wires of first and second types. A length of the first type of warp wires deviates from a length of the second type of warp wires in relation to a particular length unit, with pores being formed in interstices between sections of two neighboring warp wires and crossing sections of two neighboring weft wires.

  • Patent number: 8064691
Abstract: A method for identifying color in a target creates a ratio color space by determining the largest color component value of each pixel in an image and creating a ratio of all of the color component value with the largest component value for each pixel. The ratio for the color component of each pixel undergoes a threshold test to identify each color component as a rich shade or a fade shade. The ratio space color components are converted to a black and white image. Color information of adjacent pixels are clumped together to form blobs of the same color. The blobs are filtered by shape, color, location, or orientation and sorted to find targets that consist of a predefined pattern with the desired characteristics.
