    Abstract: Methods and devices display an interactive notification element at an electronic device. The method comprises detecting an occurrence of an event associated with an application. In response to detecting the occurrence of the event, a notification element is displayed. A user of the device inputs a sequence of one or more gestures to reveal actions he can take in response to the notification element. The device then displays a plurality of action option UI elements, the selection of each action option UI element causing the application to perform a different action.

    Abstract: An electronic device displays, on a display, a user interface that includes first and second interactive regions of an application. While displaying the user interface, the device detects an input by a contact on the touch-sensitive surface at a location that corresponds to a user interface element in the first interactive region on the display. In response to detecting the input by the contact, when the input meets intensity-based activation criteria (e.g., the contact has a characteristic intensity above an intensity threshold), the device obscures the first interactive region of the application with the exception of the user interface element without obscuring the second interactive region of the application. When the input meets selection criteria (e.g., the contact has a characteristic intensity below the intensity threshold), the device performs a selection operation that corresponds to the user interface element without obscuring the first interactive region of the application.

The messaging app launches the polling extension app, and the polling context is communicated between the polling extension app and the messaging app through an interprocess communication.

In response, the device replaces display of the keyboard with display of a plurality of digital images, the plurality of digital images including one or more digital images stored in memory and a live preview image from a digital camera. The device detects an input that selects the live image displayed within the plurality of digital images. In response, the device captures a digital image with the digital camera, while maintaining display of the conversation transcript.

The search user interface includes a search field and categorized content items. The categorized content items include a content item stored on the device and a content item from the Internet. While displaying the search interface, the device detects selection of a first item in the categorized content items; and, afterwards, displays the first item in the conversation. The device transmits the first item to the device that corresponds to the other user in the messaging session. The other user's device displays the item in a conversation that corresponds to the messaging session.
