  • Publication number: 20180232766
Abstract: A system for transmitting targeted content to an end user device comprises a program stored on the end user device configured to receive the targeted content, a location sensor configured to sense a location of the end user device, and a server for storing the targeted content, wherein the server is configured to transmit the targeted content to the end user device when the end user device is at one or more specific locations. Targeted content, such as coupons, promotions and special offers are able to be transmitted to an end user device based on a location of the end user device. The content is able to be digital in nature and may be animations, video, audio, static images, and/or documents. An end user is able to opt-in and/or opt-out of receiving the targeted content at the user device.

  • Publication number: 20180232455
Abstract: An electronically readable device and system is incorporated within and/or attached to an object to validate and/or authenticate the object. Upon activation of the device one or more codes encoded within the device are revealed and are able to be scanned by an electronic device. The electronically readable code changes, such that for each period of time the code is different than a previous period and only the database knows in advance what the code should be for a given period. The scanned code is uploaded to the database where it is compared to a stored code to verify that the object is authentic.

  • Publication number: 20180105097
Abstract: A communication system for a vehicle comprises a mechanism for sensing a braking of the vehicle and a control device for sending a signal to a headlight activation circuit to modulate the vehicle's headlights based upon the braking of the vehicle. In particular, a headlight of the vehicle is able to be modulated based upon an application of one or both of a front brake and a rear brake. The headlight activation circuit is able to modulate the headlight between an on position and an off position or modulate the headlight between a high beam position and a low beam position. Consequently, the vehicle is better seen as it approaches likely congestion areas such as intersections and slowing or stopped traffic and attempts to enter traffic.

  • Publication number: 20180108256
Abstract: A communication system comprises a pointable range finder to calculate a distance between the vehicle and an object, a recorder for recording a status of the vehicle and a control device. The range finder sends a signal to the control device corresponding to the vehicle's distance from the object and the control device operates the recorder in a manner dependent upon the signal from the range finder. The recorder is able to record the event if the vehicle is an unsafe distance from the object. The unsafe distance is able to be a programmed distance. In some embodiments, the unsafe distance increases with an increase in speed of the vehicle. In some embodiments, the unsafe distance is determined by a programmable constant. In these embodiments, the unsafe distance is determined according to a speed of the vehicle, the vehicle's distance from an object and a pre-defined safe zone threshold value.

  • Publication number: 20180065603
Abstract: A trailer brake controller and system detects absolute deceleration of a trailer by incorporating an electronic gyroscope/accelerometer combination in order to accurately calculate the deceleration subtracting out the component which is due to the force of gravity. The controller and system also receives and reads information from the towing vehicle's speed sensor. The system detects the deceleration of the trailer and sends a signal to a trailer brake activation circuit based upon an acceleration status of the trailer. In some embodiments, the system detects that the trailer is decelerating and the trailer control device sends a signal to the trailer braking system activation circuit to activate the trailer brakes. Particularly, the system is able to detect that the trailer is decelerating at an unsafe rate and to activate the trailer brakes and slow the trailer to a safe speed.

  • Publication number: 20180001948
Abstract: A communication system for a vehicle comprises a mechanism for sensing a change in speed of the vehicle and a control device for sending a signal to a headlight activation circuit to modulate the vehicle's headlights based upon the change in speed. In particular, a headlight of the vehicle is able to be modulated as the vehicle reduces speed and/or is decelerating as it approaches an intersection. Additionally, the headlight of the vehicle is able to be modulated as the vehicle accelerates from a stopped position or reaches a certain traveling speed.

  • Publication number: 20170151994
Abstract: A communication system comprises a distance calculator configured to sense objects approaching from the rear and or sides of a moving body. Particularly, the communication system is able to indicate that an object may be too close and/or approaching the moving body at an unsafe speed and/or an unsafe closure rate. In response the communication system is able to generate a response. For example, in some embodiments, the response is an external indicator that the object is too close and/or approaching the moving body. Alternatively, or in conjunction, the communication system is able to generate a warning to the moving body that an object is approaching. The warning is able to alert the moving body that the object is in the area and/or may be approaching the moving body.
