  • Publication number: 20120235843
Abstract: The selection circuit is supplied with a low-voltage-side power supply voltage from a low-voltage-side power supply, and outputs a voltage that changes in 2m (m is an integer equal to or greater than 2) levels according to m-bit digital data to be input. The level shift circuit generates a voltage by shifting a level of the voltage output from the selection circuit by a predetermined value. The n (n is an integer equal to or greater than 2)-bit digital-to-analog converter is supplied with a high-voltage-side power supply voltage from a high-voltage-side power supply, and outputs an output voltage that changes in 2(m+n) levels by changing the voltage generated by the level shift circuit in 2n levels according to n (n is an integer equal to or greater than 2)-bit digital data to be input.

  • Publication number: 20100182300
Abstract: A driver circuit of a display device includes a gray-scale voltage circuit that generates a plurality of different reference voltages, a first selector circuit that selects one of the reference voltages as a first selected voltage and selects one of the reference voltages different from the first selected voltage as a second selected voltage, an amplifier that outputs an output voltage based on the first selected voltage, and an output voltage regulator circuit that regulates a potential of the output voltage by using a regulated voltage generated based on the first and second selected voltages. The output voltage regulator circuit regulates a potential of the output voltage from the amplifier. This allows reduction of the number of reference voltages generated in the gray-scale voltage circuit and the number of lines connecting the gray-scale voltage circuit and the first selector circuit, enabling reduction of the chip area of the driver circuit.

  • Patent number: 7432903
Abstract: In a method for driving a common inversion type liquid crystal display apparatus including a plurality of signal lines, a plurality of scan lines, a common electrode, and a plurality of pixel units, a common voltage applied to the common electrode is inverted for every scan line. Also, digital video signals each including a plurality of digital color signals are time-divisionally received while one of the scan lines is selected. Further, a sequence of the digital video signals including the digital color signals is changed for every two consecutive frames to time-divisionally generate an output sequence of analog video signals including analog color signals, so that each of the analog color signals is placed exclusively at predetermined time slots of the output sequence. Additionally, the output sequence of the analog video signals including the analog color signals are time-divisionally supplied to the signal lines so that the analog color signals are supplied to their corresponding signal lines.

  • Patent number: 7248254
Abstract: Each gamma characteristic adjusting unit in a gamma correcting circuit selects a reference voltage from basic voltages generated by a basic voltage generating circuit based on correction adjustment data and selects a reference-voltage output terminal from reference-voltage output terminal candidates of a gamma correction resistor circuit as a target from which the reference voltage is to be output. As double adjustments based on such two-stage selection are possible, the adjustment range for the gamma characteristic can be made wider.
