  • Publication number: 20030095118
Abstract: A display control circuit (100) that may have a reduced power consumption has been disclosed. A display control (100) may include a plurality of output cells (3-1 to 3-N). Each output cell may include an amplifying circuit (35) for driving an output terminal (PS) to essentially a gray level voltage according to a display data (DIN). Amplifying circuit (35) may include a dead zone in which an output may be a high impedance when the output terminal is substantially the gray level voltage. An amplifying circuit (21) may be included to provide a drive for the output terminal (PS) in the vicinity of the gray level voltage. Amplifying circuit (21) may not include the dead zone. In this way, by providing the large drive by amplifying circuit (35) and a smaller drive strength by amplifying circuit (21), current consumption may be reduced.

  • Patent number: 6042524
Abstract: In a tool storage device for a machine tool, a tilting mechanism is provided with a positioning member fixed in a magazine base, a turning member turnably mounted to the outer periphery of the positioning member. The center of turning of a tool pot is kept at a specified position by the positioning member so that the tool pot is integrally turned with the turning member by turning the turning member by a link rod to a tool storage state or to a tool exchange state. The center of turning of the tool pot agrees with that of the turning member, so that a friction force is not produced therebetween. The link rod is driven hydraulically by a cylinder which is locked to maintains the final position of the tool pot when the fluid supply to the cylinder is stopped. • Patent number: 5655862
Abstract: A machine tool has a spindle with a splayed taper at the tool-holding tip, the taper expanding outwards in the direction away from the supporting bearings. Due to centrifugal forces, any cutting fluid (scattered by cutting operations) that reaches the surface of the taper tends to move on the surface of the taper and scatter away from the bearing, avoiding the intrusion of cutting fluid into the bearing. A flange having an internal taper matching the splayed taper of the tool-holding tip can be provided around the tip, making it more difficult for cutting fluid to reach the clearance between the tapers and further encouraging any intruding fluid to move and scatter away from the bearing.

  • Patent number: 4896225
Abstract: A tape recorder has an operating mode in which a magnetic tape is run at a speed higher than an ordinary reproducing speed, a magnetic head is in sliding contact with the magnetic tape, and a desired tape position is searched. In this operating mode, the magnetic tape is run initially at a first speed higher than the ordinary reproducing speed, for example triple that speed, for a predetermined period of time after an operating switch that sets the operating mode is turned on. Then, if the operating switch remains continuously turned on after the elapse of this predetermined period of time, the magnetic tape is run at a second speed which is higher than the first speed, for example 16 times the ordinary reproducing speed. In this manner, the tape speed is automatically switched from a high-speed and therefore efficient search mode in which a selected section of the tape is searched to a still higher speed in which the tape is rapidly advanced to a different section of the tape.
