    Abstract: The hand-held carpet cleaning device includes a generally arcuate housing enclosing a fluid reservoir, a fluid exit port and an absorbent pad mounted to the housing. The fluid exit port directs fluid exiting the port towards the carpet area in front of the device. The pad has a layer of absorbent material and a mesh layer situated over the absorbent material layer. The mesh layer is made of nylon, has a substantially flat, low friction surface and a plurality of openings of approximately 4 mm diameter. A ring-like member removably mounts the pad to the front of the housing. The member includes resilient carpet agitating protrusions. The device housing also has a window for observing the fluid level in the reservoir. The fluid entrance port for the reservoir has a funnel-shaped recess associated with it. A bracket is provided for hanging the housing on a wall. The bracket includes a compartment for retaining absorbent pads when not in use.

The shell includes an intake section with a diameter substantially equal to the diameter of the front end of the housing and an outlet section with an outlet opening substantially smaller than the diameter of the front end of the housing. A truncated football-like shaped balancing member is provided. The balancing member has a central air flow channel.

    Abstract: A protective ear appliance including two ear protectors with a band and a slidable coupling between the band and the ear protectors. The band encircles a portion of a wearer's head, has a curved shape with two ends and inner and outer curved surfaces. There is a slidable coupling between each of the ear protectors and the band so that each ear protector can slide independently with respect to the band to adjust the distance between the two ear protectors along the band so that the ear protectors can seat in the wearer's ears. The band can be formed with a central band hingedly coupled to the two end band portions. The ear protectors are coupled to the end band portions and slide relative to the end band portions. The protective ear appliance is designed to be worn with the central band around the back of the wearer's head.

    Abstract: A mobile telephone handset includes an elongated housing having a carabiner latch pivotally attached at a battery door on the rear side of the housing. The carabiner latch includes a hook portion having a spring-biased latch pivotally attached thereto for attaching the latch to a support element, such as a strap, loop or ring attached to a back-pack or other article of wearing apparel. The latch is stored within a door recess that receives the latch for storage purposes. The latch can be swung outwardly away from the housing to a variety of positions. A cylindrical projection is disposed within the door recess for frictionally receiving a central opening of the latch. A finger grip recess disposed within the door facilitates the grasping of the latch when it is disposed within the recess to facilitate swinging it away from the housing and out of the recess.

A head covering or balaclava is secured to the mask portion and a pocket secured to the inner surface of the mask portion removably contains the head covering or balaclava when in its secured position. The mask can be worn by the wearer either with the head covering or balaclava on the wearer's head in a deployed position or without the head covering or balaclava on the wearer's head and stowed in the pocket in the secured position.
