  • Patent number: 11520782
Abstract: Systems, devices, and methods discussed herein are directed to utilizing patterns and logical entities to identify and maintain relationships between data assets. In some embodiments, a query comprising a logical entity qualifier, one or more pattern identifiers that indicate a pattern, and a data set identifier may be received. The pattern is executed against a data set corresponding to the data set identifier and one or more logical entities are generated based on this execution. A logical entity may be a label that represents a set of one or more data assets in a data set. Assets that share a label can share attributes that are described by the label. The label corresponding to each logical entity may be presented, where each label represents a different set of data assets which share a common trait. In some embodiments, the user may define a pattern by which commonality may be assessed.

  • Publication number: 20220220885
Abstract: A clutched pulley assembly mountable to the shaft of a motor-generator unit (MGU) has a first sheave, with first spline teeth, rotatably mounted to the MGU shaft, and a second sheave, with second spline teeth, fixed to the MGU shaft. A slider gear with slider gear spline teeth is axially moveable between a torque transfer position, where the slider gear spline teeth simultaneously intermesh with the spline teeth of the first and second sheaves to operatively connect the sheaves to each other, and a torque cut-off position, where the slider gear spline teeth intermesh with the second sheave spline teeth but not the first sheave spline teeth so as to operatively disconnect the sheaves. An actuator drives the slider gear between the torque transfer and cut-off positions. The pulley assembly can be used in a stand-cooling mode wherein the engine is stopped but the MGU powers a load.

  • Publication number: 20220099067
Abstract: A method for assessing and inspection of wind turbine blades 4, in particular moving wind turbine blades, comprising the steps of directing a data capture device such as a camera system 1 towards a wind turbine blade 4 that is to be assessed. The camera system 1 can be attached to an aerial craft such as a helicopter 3, and is provided with a laser 13 that is used to track the motion of the blade 4 that is to be assessed. The laser 13 may be adapted to track a single blade 4 or the camera system 1 may be provided with multiple lasers to track multiple blades of the same turbine at the same time. The method further comprises collecting data of the state or condition of the blade 4 using the camera system 1 during the time that the helicopter 3 navigates around the wind turbine 2. The image data of the blade that is captured is fed into a computer processor (not shown) which can be on-board the helicopter 3 or at a remote location.

  • Patent number: 11215417
Abstract: A firearm with safety mechanism in one embodiment includes a barrel supported by a housing, at least one cartridge-receiving chamber in communication with a bore of the barrel, and a rotatable hammer. The safety mechanism includes a biased safety component, which may be a blocking pin in one embodiment, mounted to and rotatable with the hammer. When the firearm is exposed to an abnormal impact force caused by bumping or dropping the firearm, the safety component changes position and interacts with a blocking feature on the hammer pivot pin to stop or delay the motion of the hammer in a manner which prevents discharging the firearm. The blocking feature may be a notch in one embodiment. Rotating the hammer between rearward cocked and forward firing positions alternatingly aligns or misaligns the blocking pin with the notch, respectively.

  • Publication number: 20210345886
Abstract: In an aspect, there is provided a temperature scanner for measuring a temperature of a selected area on a human subject having a first eye and a second eye. The temperature scanner includes an infra-red sensor, a first reflective surface region, a second reflective surface region, and a controller. The infra-red sensor has a selected field of view so as to detect a temperature of the selected area of the human subject when the selected area is positioned to completely fill the field of view. The first reflective surface region is concave, has a first principal axis, and has a first focal point along the first principal axis. The first reflective surface region and the second reflective surface region are positioned relative to the infra-red sensor such that positioning the first eye of the human subject at a selected first eye position and positioning the second eye of the human subject at a selected second eye position positions the selected area of the human subject to completely fill the field of view.

  • Publication number: 20210341131
Abstract: Electrical lighting housings and heat sinks constructed of pitch-based carbon fiber that act as heat sinks for light emitting diode (“LED”/“LEDs”) lights. Greater heat dissipation cools the LED lights and power suppling components, which in turns increases the life span of these components, without the need for active cooling. Due to the improved physical strength of pitch-based carbon fiber over aluminum and other typical heat sink and housing materials, the wall thickness of a housing can be decreased when using pitch-based carbon fiber which can further aid in thermal transfer.

  • Publication number: 20210324937
Abstract: In an aspect a device for a driven shaft is provided that receives an input torque that varies cyclically between a peak input torque and a low input torque at a peak input torque frequency, which includes a shaft adapter, a rotary drive member, at least one isolation member, a torsional vibration damping structure including an inertia member and a elastomeric damping member, and a supplemental damping structure. The supplemental damping structure applies a supplemental damping torque to resist relative movement between the rotary drive member and the inertia member in addition to damping provided by the elastomeric damping member. A sum of torques including the supplemental damping torque limits a maximum twist between a first end of the driven shaft and a second end of the driven shaft, to below a yield point of the driven shaft.
