Abstract: A system, apparatus and method for releasing sessions via network entities associated with the session, where the network entities include at least session endpoints and intermediary network entities. Network entities are subscribed to intermediary network entities serving as notifiers. Upon releasing the communication session at a first notifier, a session release notification is initiated from the first notifier to its respective subscriber. The session release notification is logically advanced towards a remote one of the session endpoints via the intermediary network entities. The communication session is terminated at each of the network entities receiving the session release notification.

Abstract: A method is presented for a user to receive an alarm about a pending calendar event, or an overdue to-do, from an electronic calendar system that serves the user. The user accesses a network that connects the user terminal to a calendar system. The user sends a subscribe request for alarms, and then the user receives a notification in response to the subscribe request, to notify the user about at least one alarm that was already triggered before the user accessed the network. This way, the user will obtain alarms that were triggered while the user was inaccessible, instead of missing the alarms altogether. This system includes a user terminal for accessing the network and sending a subscribe request signal, as well as a calendaring unit that is responsive to the subscribe request signal, and is for providing to the user terminal a notification signal indicating alarms that were already triggered before the network was accessed by the user terminal.

Abstract: A method and system of finding out about and downloading software updates to a terminal, in which the terminal sends a standardized subscribe request for software updates, and a server responds by sending an initial notify message back to the sending terminal only, the initial notify message having content defined by an event package. This system and method utilize an application layer protocol called Session Initiation Protocol, and the event package requires information as to software name, update server address, update retrieval protocol, and latest version. The terminal checks if it has the available software version, and if not then the terminal automatically downloads the update, or the user is given a choice whether to download and obtain the available software version. The terminal and other terminals subsequently receive a further type of notify message having content again defined by the event package, describing at least one newly available update.

Abstract: A method and equipment by which a telecommunication terminal (10) discovers (and may enroll with) a Service Configuration Server (17) having (at least links to) configuration information needed by the terminal in performing Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) signalling to a multimedia enabling system (13) having a home service proxy (14) and an SIP outbound proxy (12), the method including: a step (20) in which the home service proxy obtains a configuration event filter for the terminal; the method characterized by: a step (21) in which the terminal creates and transmits to the SIP outbound proxy for routing to the home service proxy a SIP SUBSCRIBE request for a configuration event package, including in the request its own uniform resource identifier (URI) in the request URI. The home service proxy then redirects the SIP SUBSCRIBE request to the Service Configuration Server based on the configuration event filter for the terminal.

Abstract: A system, apparatus and method for identifying particular applications in a multi-application terminal environment to which incoming network messages should be directed. A registration message is generated at a terminal having multiple applications, and is transmitted to a registrar to be registered. The registration message includes a user address of record, and at least one contact header including at least a contact Uniform Resource Identifier (URI) of the terminal and an application identifier of one of the applications. Incoming messages subsequently received at the terminal include the registered application identifier of one of the SIP-related applications operating at the terminal, such as included with an optional field of the terminal URI. Upon receipt of the incoming message, the terminal forwards it to the application identified by the application identifier.

Abstract: A method for implementing inter-node user mobility in a communication network which enables a user to perform an inter-node change between terminals of the communication network while retaining individual user settings. For this purpose, after the user has registered at a terminal coupled to a first network node, user-oriented configuration data are requested by a home network node or similar of the user, identified by the user, and are subsequently transmitted to the first network node. The latter then initiates a user configuration to be set for the user via the configuration data transmitted.

Abstract: A method and system forwards a service-related information to network user, wherein at least one new event package directed to a service configuration and/or a de-registration state of the network user is provided at a session control device or a default server or an application server, respectively. A terminal device of the network user initiates a subscription to the new event package. In response thereto, a notification informing about the service configuration and/or the de-registration state of the network user is generated and routed to the terminal device to be made available to the network user.

Abstract: An apparatus and method initiates a conference call in a telecommunication system. A call set up message is sent by a user's equipment, a message header indicating the equipment's own public identity as the call recipient and a tag indicating that the user equipment only accepts a conference call server as the recipient of the message. A network element configured to process messages from the user equipment receives the message and redirects the message to a conference call server on the basis of the header fields of the message. The conference call server detects that the message is a conference call set up message on the basis of the header fields of the message, and establishes a conference call.

Abstract: An apparatus and method of processing a service request in an IP multimedia core network is provided. The method includes the steps of receiving a service request initiated by a first user, for a second user, forwarding the received service request to a unit for processing the service, receiving a processing result from the processing unit, and determining, on the basis of the received processing result, whether the service request processing for the second user is to be stopped.

Abstract: A private communications network and method of private communications network operation. One or more communications servers each have connected communications devices. From communications devices users enter called party numbers that may include a carrier access code (CAC) and carrier identification code (CIC). The called party number is checked for a CAC and any identified CAC/CIC is parsed from the called party number. The parsed called party number and the CAC/CIC are passed independently of each other over a private network to a public network gateway server. The public network gateway server directs the parsed called party number to a carrier network identified by the CIC, connecting the user to the called party.

Abstract: A method is provided for implementing call acceptance groups extending between network nodes in a communications network having a plurality of network nodes. An arrival of a call for a terminal which is coupled to a first network node and has an assigned call acceptance group is also signaled to all of the other network nodes that are to be determined and to which terminals of the call acceptance group are coupled. The network nodes subsequently cause that information to be displayed at the terminals of the call acceptance group which are coupled to the network nodes, and permit the call to be accepted at each of those terminals.

Abstract: Apparatus for the treatment of fluids are disclosed including a cylindrical housing closed at both ends by end caps, one of which includes an inlet for a fluid and the other includes an outlet for the fluid, a plurality of hollow fibers are arranged longitudinally within the housing between a pair of end walls, and one of the end caps includes an outlet for a second fluid which can thus be withdrawn from the outer surface of the hollow fibers between the end walls, and the apparatus includes a ring mounted between the hollow fibers at one of the end caps in order to create a fluid channel for the second fluid between the ring and the inner wall surface of the housing. This apparatus can be used, for example, for hemofiltration, hemodiafiltration or hemodialysis, but it may also be generally used for dialysis or filtration and purification of sewage, and for heat transfer, or as an oxygenator.

Abstract: Nipples for use in coupling various secondary coupling components including so-called Hansen couplings are disclosed in which the nipple includes a longitudinally extending cylinder which includes an outer recess on its outer surface which is adapted for engagement with a Hansen-type secondary coupling component including a locking element for engaging the outer recess, and in which the nipple includes threads located between the outer recess and the outer end of the longitudinally extending cylinder, which are adapted for engagement with a secondary coupling component including corresponding threads thereon. The disclosed nipples are intended to be used in order to couple dialyzer or similar diffusion and/or filtration devices to different tube systems which can include coupling components which are intended for throw-away use and/or for multiple usage.

Abstract: In a method for cooling rooms, the energy exchange between warm room air and cold air takes place through inherent convection of the air by means of a drop shaft arranged in the room, which has cooling surfaces in its upper part, at which the in-coming warm room air cools, and flows downwards owing to the specific weight difference. The cooled air leaves the drop shaft at the lower end in a laminar flow and then spreads in the room in an unbroken cool layer. The air leaving the drop shaft can also be deflected into a hollow floor. It is possible to use a fan to add to the cooled air current moved by gravity disturbing air, which then occasions turbulence.

Abstract: A self-cleaning filter installed in a cylindrical conduit for a liquid to be cleaned, such as cooling water for an industrial power plant, comprises a sieve spanning the conduit and undulating between an upstream and a downstream transverse plane. The interior of the conduit is divided into two or more sectoral compartments which are bounded by corresponding sieve segments on the downstream side and are provided with respective peripheral outlets leading to a drain, these outlets being normally closed by associated shutoff valves. To clean any sieve segment bounding a particular compartment, the upstream entrance to that compartment is obstructed by a flap valve while the corresponding shutoff valve is opened to generate a reverse flow across that sieve segment.

Abstract: A coke oven hood car is provided with a coupling opening defined on two sides by a pair of spring biased stop bars which can be engaged by a quenching car driver element which is extendable and retractable into and out of, respectively, the coupling opening by a hydraulic driver element cylinder-piston actuator. A hydraulic brake control cylinder-piston actuator is provided with a piston rod adapted to be actuated by the driver element of the quenching car when the driver element is extended into the hood car coupling opening. A hydraulically operated brake system is provided for braking the hood car when the quenching car driver element engages the hydraulic brake control cylinder-piston actuator piston rod.

Abstract: An improved duct system is provided for collecting gases from the coke side of a battery of coke-oven chambers with vertical flues in which a coke guide is mounted for movement along the ovens on rails, in which the coke transport car is mounted for movement on rails along the ovens adjacent the coke guide, and in which a stationary main collection duct with a belt covered slot is provided adjacent the transport car rails. An extraction hood is provided for covering the transport car and connecting the discharge end of the coke guide with the transport car. The hood has an integral connecting line adapted to be connected between a gas collection duct above the coke guide and a gas transfer device movable on the main duct under the belt for directing the gases into the main duct. Also integral with the extraction hood are two gas outlet ducts, one on each side of the connecting line, separate from the connecting line, for connecting the extraction hood to the gas transfer device.

Abstract: A coax connector module comprising a housing accommodating electrically conducting coax contact elements. Each contact element having a contact side in the form of a coaxial inner and outer contact part, and a connecting side in the form of an electrical terminal and in electrically conducting casing surrounding the terminal in an electrically insulating manner. The electrical terminal being connected to the inner contact part and having a connecting end, and the casing being connected to the outer contact part and having at least one connecting end, for mounting on a printed circuit board. The casing being constructed from walls of sheet metal or a machined block of metal. To reduce the pitch distance between the respective connecting ends of adjacent casings, one or more of the walls of adjacently situated casings can be of integral or partially common construction.
